
Here's How to Get Your FULL REFUND from Hostgator, for the Recent Downtime
In case you don't know, you can get back your money for this month's
hosting from Hostgator for the recent downtime. I did the last time they
had this type of downtime. I sent them the below message and they
replied with an immediate refund, no questions asked.
It's simple, just edit/customize the below message I sent them:

All my hostgator sites, including the ----.com VPS were down for more than (estimate the number of hours) hours on this day and were even going on and off all through the day.
I hereby request a refund for all my hostgator sites for the month in question, in line with your guarantee:

We guarantee that your site will be up 99.9% of the time we host it. This guarantee includes both network and server failures. If your site isn't up 99.9% in any one month we will issue a service credit to your account for the month.

0.1% of a month equates to about 43 minutes. All my hostgator sites were down for many hours, so I qualify for this refund, not to mention all the loss of business and money I encountered because of this.
To prevent moving all my hostgator sites to another host, please honor this right away and issue a service credit to my account for the month for all my hostgator hosting accounts.

Since EIG is trying to save money by buying hosting companies and
then going right ahead to reduce the quality by cutting support staffs,
moving servers to obviously cheaper solutions, etc, they should also
be ready to continue to make refunds like these, to those affected, but
only if webmasters know about this and claim their due refunds.
Of course many of us would have lost a lot more money because of
the downtimes than the amount we will get from the refund, but hey,
it's better than nothing, right?
