What is better, a good authority site or a good sales funnel?

If you have to invest in one thing, what would you chose first? Or what is better? An really good authority site or a really good sales funnel?

I´m thinking to invest but I have to chose...... What would you recommend me?

    If you truly build an authority site, you will be able to build as many sales funnels to as many products as you want. Warrior Forum is strictly speaking an authority site. So is the New York Times, so is Wikipedia, so is YouTube, so is the HuffingtonPost, so is a large number of sites that garner massive amounts of traffic because they have shareable content, and they have educational, informative, and entertaining content. The day you realize that great content will find an audience, and the day that you realize serving an audience is the first job of most websites is the day that you will grow your traffic and your wealth. The biggest investment in developing an authority site is the time to become an expert, and the time, to become a destination by creating massive amounts of content.

      Very well said. Every word true. The key is building great, engaging, interesting content which add values to the people's life. If it adds value it will be automatically shared and eventually will establish your authority

    By great sales funnel I assume a profitable one using paid traffic.

    A while ago I'd answer authority website. These days, a profitable sales funnel. I'd rather be profitable with paid traffic than relying on search engine traffic which drives much of the traffic for authority sites. Authority sites aren't immune from search engine changes - many have gone down the tubes.

    However, if the authority site is profitable with paid traffic, then it's a wash, but it's probably profitable because it has a sales funnel.
