[Opinions Wanted] Need your input on a product I'm creating

Hey there,

I'm creating a video case study that details step by step how I'm building a 7 figure website from scratch.

When it's finished, I'll be releasing the case study as a product.

I'd like your input for two aspects of the case study I'm having trouble with.

First Off:

Although this is a case study, not a "how to" product, I'm guessing most of my buyers would be interested in implementing what they learn to build their own profitable site.

The challenge is - how do I find the balance between this is what I'm doing, versus this is what you should do if you want to build your own site.

In other words, I don't want to bore people by focusing solely on what I'm doing. I want to teach people at the same time. But I don't want this to be a typical "how to make money online" product, since I'm actually showing people what works.

So the question is, would you get bored if I was just focusing on what I'm doing? Would you want me to explain every step of the process so you could implement it on your own site too?

Secondly:

The first section of the case study outlines all the preparation involved before actually building a site - mindset, goal setting, budgeting, psychology, picking the right market, market research, developing a good product etc.

This section is very detailed, since it's what I wanted to know when I first got started online. But my question is, would you get bored reading all this? Would you rather I just get straight to the point - this is how to set up a site, this is how to get traffic, and this is how to get it to convert?

I know that's a tough question to answer when you haven't seen the product, but just trying to get a rough idea of what people want.

Many thanks for any input or feedback you can contribute.

How many 7-figure websites have you actually built? If you have a history of building successful sites, your customers will probably be happy to follow your exact procedure - even down to abstracts like mindset.

However, if you're creating a product based on theory, you'll need to provide some compelling reasons why they should follow you - and then come up with your own unique way of presenting the material, if you want to differentiate your offering from all the others.

David I do not understand what you are trying to do here. You are trying to cover a bunch of topics in one video. Isn't it going to be very long and drawn out? You are much better off making numerous videos of your topics and letting your readers choose what they are interested in and when.
You will also be able to put the videos in your blogs that relate to the subject and get them seen that way.
A series is much easier to make for you and add to later and for the video watchers the videos will be shorter and easier to find ones they want to know about.

LOL - that would be a very long video indeed.

No, the case study is step by step, and separated into smaller videos, one step at a time. I also have an ebook to accompany the videos, basically written instructions of what I'm doing.

I would make an audio book an option. I'm not a big fan of reading ebooks.

I've built seven figure websites.. and there is no system to it.. especially that can be replicated by average people.

If you like my posts please leave a thanks and message me if you wish for me to follow up with your thread. I enjoy engaging with entrepreneurs and ALWAYS willing to take the time to offer solid answers that you can take to the bank. Internet marketing has made me rich over the last +20 years and this is how I give back to the community for all of those evil popunders I used to sling in the 90s.

7 figure websites are not the norm. They are the exception and each unique. Even if you have one already, it doesn't mean that someone following your steps is going to be able to replicate your success.

I suspect most people want to know how they can have a 7 figure website, not watch how you built yours. I could be wrong on that, but I would want to know that you had already done this, and done it more than once, in a way that is verifiable before I would be willing to invest in a product.

If you've built a 7 figure website then post your URL here. You have nothing to fear from competition.

I'm looking to get input on the questions I asked at this stage, not promote my site. You're welcome to provide input.
