Can anyone recommend the BEST Mentor or Mentoring Community?

Hi everyone,

I realise this is no easy feat as it depends on so many factors. But I would like to hear from YOUR personal experience rather than grapevine recommendations. I am interested in both personal one-on-one programs as well as mentoring groups and communities. Ideally if it is a group or community there would be actual access to the Mentor themselves as well.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Depends on what kind of mentorship you're looking for. Could you get a little more specific about your goals or what you seek to achieve/learn?

Hi Mustafa, thanks for replying. I guess a good mentor would help me realise what potential is out there so this is just a general question. If you have had a mentor or been part of a mentoring group that has provided you with a lot of value please let me know.

I really like the Bring The Fresh COmmunity :-)

They all get together and help and they were all newbies as well but backed by Kelly Felix and numerous other very good marketers it will definitely help you :-)

From my personal experience here are a few names I would recommend, please note that these names are in no particular order and I have personal interaction with them or their coaching team.

      1) Jim Cockrum
      2) Steve Peters Benn
      3) Will from PPC-Coach.com

However I would suggest you do some free reading right here in the forum to decide on one of the various approaches to making money online. Each of these mentors have their own strengths and it is up to us to be well prepared to make the most of their time. Trust me these guys are super busy.

I think people usually need more coaching than mentoring. If you need someone else to push you to do things, build your self-confidence or find what you are good at, I'd say find a mentor outside IM because it might be that IM even isn't your thing.

If you know you want to succeed in IM, then find a good coach. He/she will tell you what you need to do and where you need to focus to make a successful internet marketing career.

Sorry that I didn't answer to OP's question but I just wanted to make distinction between the terms

Thanks OP for this nice thread.
I have been wondering too where to find mentors who could teach me how to make money for certain recurring % or upfront fee. However it has to be a rock solid plan where they can demonstrate revenue before I jump on board. Something along lines of - Lets say I know how to make $20 a day via adsense. And I offer t train two persons by letting them exactly how I go about it for $100 fee. But before they pay, I show them verifiable, non nonsense income proof and clarify exactly what is required on their part, how much money and time etc will be needed to reach $20 a day.
I dont think there is any place on the net yet where one can find such "mentorship" offers?
    Or is there one?

Again, that is not mentoring. That is coaching.

Are you saying that coach should proof that they have made money with the methods that they teach and they should tell you what is required on your behalf if you undertake their coaching program?

I think all most every successful coaching program offers that.

There is no Best Mentor, there are however Mentors who best suit your own characteristics and personal inclinations and own "inner persona".

There could be a mentor who has helped thousands ( Like Tony Robbins) but if your inner inclinations are turned off by his hypey rockstar persona , it wont be suitable for you (not knocking on Tony in any way , love the guy!)

How open minded you are to coaching also plays a part , if you allow mentors to mould you rather than be too fixed on your own limiting beliefs, they can transform you.

Many people forget that its a two way street. A mentor cannot be more involved in your success than you are in your own success.

I have a coaching program (5 Figures in 5 Months) that can be applied across many industries in many countries but it is still up to the person to work his ass off!

I have had mentors from Copywriting to Adwords to Personal Development when i first started and i owe MUCH to them

Mentoring/coaching or holding hands ultimately is one and the same thing for me. If someone tells me he can help me make money, I need to know the proof and no nonsense practical clauses rather than hypothetical lines of text that may or may not work for my specific condition.
When someone offers us to sell a brick and mortar business, what do we do? Do we ask to see proofs or just words and potential - LOL?
I am yet to see any concrete proposals on the web. Plenty of WSOs, make money sleeping etc etc but how many of them agree to payment as the project progresses and one can see the proof?

Thank you all for taking the time to respond, much appreciated. I'm not sure your perceived difference in the definition of the words coaching and mentoring are relevant Cuie, you get the idea of what we are after.

I have been part of mentoring programs already and each have had their value. The thing is if you don't know a strategy exists, how can you know whether that is the one that will work for you. Of course I will do my own research but in a world where every second person thinks they are a mentor (or coach!) I feel personal recommendation is invaluable.

Please do keep giving me your personal recommendations. I would then like to dig deeper into those I receive and I will then be able to make an informed decision as to which will suit me and my purposes most.

Again I appreciate all your input!

Find someone who is running a business like you would like to have... if they offer a coaching program, talk with them... if they don't, ask who they follow and who taught them their model

There are too many different approaches to business to say one is better than another for you. You're the only one who knows what type of business you want.

  • Hi Aleksbogata,

The answer to your question depends upon your present level of knowledge and experience.

If you are a complete newbie and just getting started out then the answer is an easy one because when starting an online business it is essential to begin the right way. 96% are doing it wrong and make very little or no money?

For beginners I recommend the Chris Farrell Membership because I belong and have done since end of September 2009. Also he helped me finally get started and begin making money online. The cost is $4.95 first 7 days then $37 every month or one year upfront works out at about $25 a month if you pay for 12 months?

If you already know how to find profitable niches, do keyword research, register a domain name, change nameservers there to point to where your website will be hosted, upload Wordpress into your hosting CPanel and upload themes and plugins as well as security. Also how to write great emails into your autoresponder to build a relationship and establish trust with your list before selling to them.

Add video, autoresponder code, current date code if required, add a strong headline, bullet points to highlight benefits, something of real value to get sign ups, a strong call to action and finally many free and paid ways to drive targeted traffic to your sites then more advanced coaching could be what you are seeking?

I think that for every good advanced training mentor there are far too many fake get rich quick Guru haters who sell worthless trash that never does as they claim. So I would check out the well known Guru's who have been around at least 7 years and research what they have to offer or check out some of the WSO's here?

So that is my oppinion? I also like and have examined IM with John Chow, also aware of Bring the Fresh and Shoe in Money to name a few but have no personal experience using them so like I said research them and see if any are better suited to what you want to achieve and join one if the price and training is also right for you?

    Good luck.

    Stephen & Jennifer.

I've been involved in different mentoring programs to help me grow in different areas:

    1) Mindset
    2) Team building
    3) Relationship building

In the beginning, I thought learning all the technical details was the most important thing, but it's not.

I found the most important is mindset and everything else comes when it is needed.

From the post of yours, you seem like a complete newbie. Here's what i will do

    1) Forget the mindset of making right choices. This mindset will not help you succeed.

    2) You dont even know what you want to do.Like in what business model you want to propel

    1) adsense
    2) software creation and selling
    3) ecommerce
    4) local marketing
    5) Guru business model
    6) Media buying
    7) Affiliate marketing
    8) Kindle publishing

You have no clue what you want to do. I will recommend, read this forum and create a plan. Like, "I will make $100 from kindle publishing in next xx days"

Go out and do everything to make it happen. Forget everything about all the other business model. Keep a close eye on forum if something new info comes for kindle publishing. But, dont waste your time in checking about seo,ppc etc

There is the time, when your "reptilian mindset" will kick in. Your reptilian mindset wants you to

    a) eat
    b) sleep
    c) sex

and he doesnt like to go out of comfort zone. When you will follow your plan, this reptilian mindset will creep in and start distracting you. Because reptiles has no meaning of being rich, famous

At that time, keep yourself aware and diligently follow your plan. Now, after xx days, you will have few revelations

    1) Either you hate kindle publishing or you love it

    2) You eventually made your first $100 or you didnt.

    3) Sit back , relax and check how this can be improved. Your unconscious is so great, 99.9% you will have updated plan built by your unconscious.

At that point, you can see who is successful in Kindle publishing and ask for coaching.

The people who are complete newbies and go around asking for coaching. It shows their mindset

    1) They are afraid to make mistakes and want someone to help them a full proof plan. They are afraid to make mistakes.

    2) Most of the time, they had mum or dad who guided them all his life. Now, they expect same in this business world as well.

Business is an art, not a science. You have to create your artistic masterpiece yourself.

    Hope this helps

I understand where you are coming from but check the reply posted by Stephen & Jennifer which I think is closer to what OP is looking for. This is similar to what I am looking for as well. Concrete numbers, not just theory.
There are plenty of sellers here and on the net weaving all kinds of dreams. But I am yet to see anyone who promises rock solid hand holding and proof that they are not afraid of showing after proper vetting of learners.
