Hi all, first off i'd like to say that I've been lurking around these forums for a few weeks now and it has been a tremendous amount of help. Me and a friend of mine who has an SEO company recently partnered up and decided to start an "affiliate"marketing company building various sites to make money. We both have extensive sales background and decided to get into the exciting world of internet marketing. Our 1st website which right now is in development is a software website designed to sell various forms of clickbank software in 4 different categories (utilities , registry cleaner e book for computers etc) . Having started it there are a few things that worry me

1) I've read multiple opinions about people saying instead of creating a website that sells 10 reviewed products, it is better to create 1 website that targets a specific product

2) TRAFFIC !!! SEO takes a few months and everybody under the sun says that one form of traffic is super risky. We've looked into google ppc and we calculated our ROI to be measly and most likely not profitable at all. Also we are in a pretty competitive category so even great SEO might not get us on page 1 in some categories (eg antivirus or registry cleaner).

what I was hoping to get everyone's onion on is really on point 1 if people thinking going the one product route vs multiple products route and secondly what you guys recommend as a efficent way to attract traffic OTHER than google PPC ? I have seen people recommend things like getawab and 7search, are those any good ?

thanks in advance for your opinions !

Hello Francolasalsa and welcome here to Warrior Forum.

According to your background, I think you can get traffic from article marketing first, not ppc.

Hi there, i'm not quite sure whether it is a good idea to start your IM career with this kind of products. There are hundreds of really good FREE software products out there which are well known and of high quality. The approach of building a website for the particular reason to engage people to BUY any product of the above mentioned section (antivir, utilities, reg. cleaner) seems to be a very very long and hard way. Especially when you consider what you have already figured out on your own - SEO will most propably not work out due to massive and well-established competitors. Driving sufficient traffic to your site only via article syndication is going to be a hard fight. This is based on the nature of these kinds of products - there is nothing about it which is fascinating or makes the people feel curious about what you have to say about the Reg-Cleaner XY (except some mega geeks maybe).
I mean nothing is easy within the field of IM but in order to keep the motivation high and achieve quick wins which drive you guys to push further another idea / product might be a better start. I always see huge challenges when it comes to the point that you want sell a common product which is often available for free elsewhere (like antivir). I don't want to discourage you but it is important to have a real chance of making at least a few bucks within a couple of month to keep up the drive.

    Anyway, good luck !

I haven't really researched article marketing, I'm going to have to look into that but like mynd said I don't know how many people would be interested in articles about regcleaners except some mega geeks who would probably know more than me to begin with. I'm definitely going to have to make sure website number 2 is a product that can't be gotten for free. Trying to see if We should go amazon physical products vs clickbank digital.

It depends, in most cases one site with lots of reviews is much better in my opinion and for me it work the best- As you might have more content it will be easier for you to promote your new reviews (don't need to start a new relationship with google everytime again)

But if you promote somting big and you know that the demand for this product will be for many months (Most physical products like iphone or popular video games) it would be better to make 1 site.

I would suggest looking for brand new products or products that haven't been reviewed too much yet. This way, you'll be among the first to rank for said products thus increasing your chances of getting some of that good organic search traffic juice.

It doesn't matter how many products you're promoting, as long as you're doing it through an optin and email series.

If you haven't started looking into email marketing, I'd say start there.

Most buyers won't buy from you until they trust and respect your opinion. When I first started using an email series on my sites, my conversion rates quadrupled, just on the front end.

Content marketing, article marketing, video marketing, social media marketing... use em all. Create content often and share it as many places as you can.

I'd also recommend finding a few good keywords for your sites and working on getting them ranked. Just don't make the rookie mistake of needing to be ranked tomorrow, take your time and find quality backlinks over time and you'll get quality, long term rankings.

I wouldn't buy email lists! Don't you hate getting spam from someone you have never heard of? That's basically how your emails would be seen. Try Mailing List Finder -- Search & Compare Mailing Lists for list brokers or use solo ads and build your own list. Plus when you buy lists, how do you even know it is in the right niche or whether they are just fake emails or bots.
