All these little things can also help drive more quality traffic to blogs. Here are 15 popular techniques you can use:.

1.) Develop a minimum of 4 keyword posts daily. Each post on my site is useful and over 1k words. I do not thinking creating 4 of these a day is possible. Also, the quality would go down. You need to provide the maximum quality to your visitors.

Thanks, it is a nice list.

Personally, I go lean more towards posts that are in depth - I do include some smaller posts of under 500 words, but these are few and far between.

    Great list though, thanks again.

There are several facets to my take on this.

Just as lengthy blog posts 'could be' ridiculously sprawled with worthless drivel that goes on for hundreds or thousands of words, so also can short blog posts (<100 words) not be worth anyone's time of day either.

Inversely, short blog posts can be similarly worthless.

"Quality" is hard to put a finger on because it is directly related to a consumer's ever-changing perception.

If I'm searching for a quick answer to something, the last thing I want to do is wade through thousands of words of text. Lately, I've received the occasional bizarre phone # come across my phone. Curious if the same has happened to others, I've Google'd the phone #, generally to find that my suspicions are confirmed: that the number was related to some marketing company, etc. In that context, I don't want to read tons of words to find an answer. To me, in that sense, I would feel my time seriously wasted if I had to wade through thousands of words of text.

Now, in terms of brand building, on one's own personal blog, I tend to gravitate towards lengthy posts. Not only do I prefer those posts to be filled with alot of high quality text, but, in order to captivate and maintain interest, I prefer to scatter pictures, bolded text that highlights important points paragraph to paragraph, video, etc. If done correctly, very valuable first impressions can be established from the start with every new visitor.

I'm just going to weigh in here and say that the best thing you can do is create a long post that is of good quality.

If you can't keep the quality up, shorten it.

It's all about the quality, not the length.

Length does matter but it's mostly all about quantity, more indexed pages in google, more traffic.

      Cyberzolo,

My experience is exactly the opposite.

I personally believe that subscribers appreciate quality and they are somewhat flexible regarding how often the posts come. If you tell them you're going to post once a week, twice a week, or even more often, they will accept your schedule of posting. It's important to post as often as you say you are going to post.

When you say "it's mostly all about quantity" I take it that you're writing for the search engines and you are trying to spam them. I would ask you, how's that working? Anyone can post junk using 100K PLR article packs but that doesn't lead to a big following or sales.

The goal isn't to see how many articles you can post for Google. It's to build a loyal following and provide them with useful information so they will trust you when you make your offers.

      LOL... exactly my thoughts...

Except RSS, that's still powerful but in some other way than what's mentioned here...

Thanks for your list of Tips, Louis.

The concept of writing four short 100 - 150 word posts every day is not one I've heard of or have come across before!

My blog posts are usually at least 800 words but I hope I do my best to keep them focused and on topic - I like to think that I don't add Fluff and Filler for the sake of a word count and that I'm offering quality content.

If you want people to actually like what you have put up on your blog, then you need to put up interesting posts, whatever the length. Having useful information will result in people recommending your blog to others, through social networks and I believe this is something Google like too. So, interesting and informative posts that humans like is the way to go, in my opinion.

    Thanks for the list!

I agree that 3-4 short posts per day will drive more traffic to your site.
If you want to build a following, it's like many of you before me have already said, it's about quality. Don't focus on the length of your posts so much. Focus on providing your readers with actual content.
But if you want people to actually see your quality posts and drive them to your site, short posts are a great way to increase your online presence. Quality is still important here because the purpose of these short posts is to generate enough interest that viewers will want to stick around and see more of your blog.

quality over quantity. as long as what is written is quality length shouldn't be too big an issue. sometimes it only takes 150 words to say what needs to be said. other times it take longer.
