How Soon Do I Start Bookmarking and Backlinking My New Site?

Hi.

I have just finished the design of a new site for a client and have written my first article for it.

I want to know when would be the right time to start bookmarking and backlinking my new site?

Should I start now?
Wait until I have "x" amount of written articles?

Could I have started the backlinking sooner?

    Any time you want. The main thing you have to think about is not when you start but how many backlinks you get. Too much links too soon can and will hurt you, ask me how I know. Though unless you get thousands of links per day, you should be ok.

    Bookmark everything straight away, but also bookmark webpages belonging to other people in between bookmarking your own articles. Many (perhaps even most) social bookmarking sites see people as spamming when they only bookmark their own stuff.

    You can start linking straight away too, as long as your post(s) are good ones, and as long as you give value when you're posting on forums and on other people's blog posts and as long as you make sure the posts and threads you're commenting on are related to your site's/article's theme.

    All the best with your new site - it can be a challenge, but also an exciting time.

    You should start building backlinks as soon as you can .. get some good content on the site first which means have 2 or 3 articles.

    Then you want to start bookmarking first create your accounts and fill out your profiles 100% which means about you, your pic, and etc. Then you want to start bookmarking but DO NOT bookmark all your pages, bookmark the main page and 1 inside page (a article). Go find a few sites that you like about 10 or so and bookmark them.

    Once done with that then go make a few friends request and join a few groups. Take some time and participate in the social bookmarking site DO NOT just bookmark and leave. Once you have some friends and taken the time to be a "member" of the site then you can go and bookmark a few more of the site pages.

    DO NOT bookmark your pages all at once, feed your bookmark profile slow.. You should do the above at the top 10 or 20 bookmarking sites.
