Fitness Niche - Do you think there will be more competitors or customers in 2 years time?

Just really looking for someone's educated opinion.

Take 2 areas of the fitness niche:

Weight Loss.

Muscle Building.

With reference to the retail of ebooks via your site / ClickBank. Do you think the competition is rising faster than the customers or vice versa for either of those two?

I can check Googe trends for customers, but how do I check for the rising "number" of competitors, this is why I wanted to ask.

If anyone has an idea. Thanks.

I'm in this niche. I would say MORE.

It's crazy competitive and I'm struggling to gain a foot hold. I'm not giving up though.

About 15 years ago I decided no one buys weight loss pills anymore and it's no longer worth getting into... I turned down a direct mail opportunity with a very successful entrepreneur because there was 'too much' competition back then.

As you can imagine, no one else has made an money in weightloss in 15 years, lol.

Don't let competitors mean anything at all to you. In fact, online... it's a good thing. You can use established websites for backlinks and traffic to get your site started, and if you rank for the right keywords or set up the right traffic funnels, you'll get traffic.

Competition isn't important... if people buy, now that's important.

The two niches you're looking at are super hot.. don't shy away from either one.

There are so many people competing in this niche.

For anybody wanting to get into it now I would just say don't do it.

I do it alot, taking big niches into battle. I`m very proud of the fact that I, almost always, get sales. It`s all in finding what people are searching for. They are not searching for "sex" "or weight loss".. what would you like to find out from google if you`d be to search ? would you write "fitness" ? or "does whatever exercise cause backpain ?".. you get what I mean I`m sure..

Will there be more competitors? Yes, probably alot more. That doesn't mean you can't take a slice of the pie for yourself though.

There are always new products, new exercises, new methods etc. coming out which you can write about and easily rank for.

I have a site about how to lose weight and tone a specific part of the body.
Because it's a new trend in the last year I ranked on page 1 of Google really easily and traffic has gone from approximately 1000 searches per month to nearly 15000 searches per month in just the last 12 months.

There weren't any products targeting exactly the information my visitors wanted so I created my own, and I'm now making $100+ per day with this small 10 page site and my own $10 product.

Another example, I read an article on an online newspaper just over a week ago about a new fad diet that is becoming popular. I wrote an article discussing it and added it to my weight loss blog, and made a quick video and submitted it to Youtube. Both are ranked on page 1 of Google already and making sales (I talked about how the fad diet didn't work and referred my traffic to a Clickbank product that does).

Just learn to think outside the box and there are plenty of opportunities available in the weight loss and fitness niches.

No doubt it's a competitive niche, however this is still a massive growth industry. Look at how much is being spent in this sector; gyms are popping up all over the place, there are more and more personal trainers and the supplement industry is massive.

You just need to find a successful niche within the niche as your customer base is growing year upon year.

You can bet that there will certainly be more competitors and customers in 2 years. If you want to get into the fitness niche then go for it -- there is more than enough room for you to grab a piece of the pie.

Two excerpts from an article I've just written...

"What you need to do is shift your perspective from that of being challenged to that of being positioned; there is more than enough room for everyone -

Provided you have a unique voice.

        Your own perspective."

        and

"In my opinion the competition is irrelevant because it is not the criteria that affects the success of your place in any niche - it is the value of what you can bring to the table."

Isn't that related? More customers = more competitors. There will be many more in both...the fitness lifestyle is getting more and more fans every year and it won't slow down with today's diseases and crazy working hours.

Then surely there's no better time to sharpen up your USP and marketing campaign? Because if you don't someone else will... BE that someone else
