Hi, i got a LLLL.co domain and i don't know what to do with it. Should i write articles (create a website) and let it rank or just sell it? Do you think it will rank for those articles since it's .Co domain? Any suggestions will help.

I had a .co website a couple of years ago, and I ranked for several keywords in that particular niche, using original articles and a few well-placed backlinks. I don't think there is any particular disadvantage or advantage to having a .co domain when it comes to organic ranking in the SERPs.
Thanks for the advice. It's really inspiring. How long does it takes for your .co to rank? Do you think it rank faster or slower than .com?

Yes, it's a word (listed in dictionary). All main TLDs is gone. It have more than 100K searches with low competition too.

That's so low. Gosh! Thanks for the tips.

Alright, thanks for the tips. I just don't want to waste my time to write but it end up nothing (didn't rank for anything). I'll guess that selling this domain at low price would be a good choice.

I started ranking within a couple of weeks using articles submitted to article directories, and using the "Build My Rank" (BMR) network. However, after Penguin rolled out in April 2012 and hit so-called private blog networks like BMR, my rankings dropped drastically and never recovered. I decided it wasn't worth the time to try to revive it, and I let the domain drop when it came time to renew.

Whether a .co domain ranks faster or slower than a .com I don't really know. However, my personal opinion is that any domain extension will rank with good keyword research, good content, proper on-page SEO and high-quality backlinks.

        Hope that helps. Jesse

However, what worked a couple of years ago will not work today trust me SEO has gotten much tougher you have to not only put good content but also link to it from high authority private blog networks. Best to create your own or have a membership at a private one.

        True dat!

I agree it is harder to rank a site today. My point however, was that I did rank a .co site in the past, albeit during the days when you could still get quick rankings by putting up a few 150 word articles on Build My Rank and similar networks.

Random LLLL.co as a domain has no value. But .co should rank the same as .com as Google rank them equaly.

LLLL domains are good for one or two reasons generally.

    1. It makes a word like Ball, Work, Jobs, something that make sense. This would also be known as a generic domain. These have value in .com, .net. org and then when you move down the food chain of TLD's the value gets less.

    2. It is also used as an acronym for a business name. Used more often when the business name may be long and instead of having a long domain name they will use the initials of the biz name instead. Most of the time in .com or .net it is already taken.

If your .co is just random letters then I can get that myself in .co so value wise reg fee (what you paid for it or less) and to develop it with made up letters will be a hard sell on both developing and selling. In the future when you buy a domain have a purpose behind it that can go either way.

How about if you monetize it a little bit, put some articles and bring some traffic, build some valuable links and then sell it for some comission.

if it is not a dictionary word, I would try to sell it.

I would recommend keeping any LLL.CO not LLLL - I have about a dozen LLL.co's and sold 4 of them so far anywhere from $450-$1,250 each
