Microsoft Word Document Ebook Design

Hi Warriors,

I am writing an ebook using Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 v14.3.9

I am adding a few links here and there but when I save it as a PDF, all the links don't work in the PDF.

How can I create links that also work in the PDF version? This happens for both external links and also for links that go to other pages in the document..

Anbody know what I am doing wrong, or the correct way to do this?

Are the links saved as hyperlinks?

    From Microsofts website.
In an Office document, you can create a hyperlink to another Office document, a Web page, or an e-mail address.

    Do any of the following:

HideCreate a hyperlink to a Web page

Select the text or object that you want to make into a hyperlink.
On the Insert menu, click Hyperlink.
In the Link to box, enter the Web address.
NOTE To link to a specific location on a Web page, click the Web Page tab, and then under Anchor, follow the instructions.

    Hope it helps you

The way you explained is exactly how i created the hyperlinks in word.. but I still have the same problem.. when I save the document as a PDF file and then open that PDF file as the ebook, the links that I created don't actually work. I can see them, they're there in blue but just don't work. I am using Adobe reader or Adobe Acrobat Professional to view the PDF file.

What does "don't work" actually mean?

Are you saying the hyperlinks aren't actually hyperlinks, ie: just standard text, or is it that the link to a non-existent URL?

Scrolling the mouse over the "what is meant to be a link" does nothing and clicking on it does nothing... even though it "looks like a link in blue and underlined".

I believe the problem is related to the Mac version of word... I guess the only way for me to create hyperlinks that work is to do it in Adobe Acrobat Professional which is a pain but cant see any other way.
