Limiting Downloads per User.. Solutions?

Hi guys

I'm going to be setting up a stock photography site next year, secured by DAP, with the content being hosted on Amazon S3. Members will have unlimited access to the content, once logged in - but I'd like to have a 'fair useage' policy in place, so they can't just download all of the content, just for the sake of it.

Looking around, I can't see evidence that Amazon S3 or DAP has download limit features in place. I was wondering whether any of you techies know of a third party solution or viable hack that may be of use?

Thanks so much for your time

Conzz

You can do that with sites like dlguard and 1sc will do it too if you upgrade to their digital products suite.

Much appreciated Kevin. Damn shame it isn't a feature on Digital Access Pass, as I love the functionality of that membership script!!

    Conzz,

DAP has a plugin called "Credit Store" (new revamped version coming out shortly) that allows you to give your members "X" number of credits a month with their subscription.

You then set up your stock photography store such that one credit is worth only one image. So, 10 credits (say) would get them 10 image downloads.

That way, using the "Credits", you control how much content they get to "Redeem" with their credits.

    Hope this helps.

Bingo! Knew they would have it sorted. There's nothing DAP doesn't do :-)

Wow that is great, I had members download large video files over and over and over again because they loose it on their computer and my Amazon bill goes up

s2member has the ability to restrict downloads, as far as I recall. Honestly though, I don't remember if you can restrict it at the user level or the total daily level.
