On what do you spend most of your time in email marketing? (you could write percentages)

-content creation
-technical issues - linking forms to databases, setting up autoresponders
-analysing, segmenting the database
-creating landing pages
-lead capture
-planning the flow
-what else?

Which of these activities has the highest value for you?

I would not call myself an "email marketer."

But, I do have mailing lists, so I'll try and answer your question.

I am more of a blogger, so my content remains "permanent" on the Internet.

Then I use my mailing lists to let folks know when updates have occurred, things are on sale, etc.

A very small amount of my time is actually spent on "email marketing."

I'd say like 80% of my time is content.
    10% is analyzing information.
    10% is everything else.

Obviously when first constructing things...100% of my time is spend on that - but you get the idea.

Jason - can you expand on this please? Are you paying for traffic to your squeeze then hitting them with a CPA or something.

      Thanks

        Something like that.

Just putting something in front of them right after they optin that could produce revenue.

Could be an offer of your own, an affiliate offer that pays per sale, or a CPA offer.

What you use to monetize depends on your niche, what you're promising your visitors in exchange for them to opt-in, and what types of relevant offers you can present.

Doesn't matter exactly how you get paid (CPA, CPM, CPC, CPL, Per sale), as long as whatever you're using does make you money

Usually formatting issues or data handling. For example - at the moment I'm trying to figure out why Apple Mail is resizing my text to look much bigger than other email clients - sigh!

I spend the most of my time tweaking the verbiage
of my lead capture pages to reach optimal opt in rates.
I also spend a great deal of time on driving traffic so
that I can market via email.

Early on in the campaign a lot of my time was spent on
setting up my follow up series. But that was done on the
front end. Now its about traffic and delivering value.
