I know there are ones to create popup forms and unlock widgets to display the rest of the content

Any other good methods to collect email addresses on wordpress sites with the use of widgets?

      Is that what you really want tho?

      Why not have people want to subscribe - because they know you'll provide quality information and updates?

    Have you seen Advanced Social Widget? It's a pretty cool plugin that allows you to customize your widget with social media and email option field using different layouts. Below is a link to the main version but there are specific Aweber and Mail Chip versions as well if you want to use specifically with one of those. Hopefully this is on track with what you're asking.

  • Drag a text widget over in to the sidebar of your wordpress blog, copy your autoresponder code (Aweber or whatever) in to it and "hey presto" your opt-in box is there and will appear on each page/post view. No plug-in required.
