Hello guys,

I promote clickbank products via youtube. Till now I was trying to use Tinyurl and x.vu to colak and redirect my clickbank affiliate links. Now I want to buy a domain to do so because I have heard that it helps to increase the number of sales. Please can you guys tell me from where I should try to buy the domain and what kind of domain is fit for my job (sorry I am a beginner in this regard). Finally because I want to promote different products in future then is it enough to just get ONE domain to cloak/redirect the whole different products, Am I OK by doing so?

Thanks beforehand.

It's a good idea to have one domain name for all your redirects. A domain that is fairly generic which can make sense for every type of product. For example, the domain I use is HopHost.com. I have thousands of redirects from that domain name. I use a wonderful redirect script to handle the management of all the redirects.

Can you share what redirect script you use?

I would suggest you buy the domain from namecheap. I also see no problem in using one domain to cloak different products. The customers wont notice it and it is they who matter.

Matt Cutts said somewhere that Google doesn't like redirects. I don't know whether to believe him or not. I have done both -- redirects and raw Clickbank/Amazon links. I can't say that I see a difference. Brian Kindsvater claims that most redirects are meaningless. Google can figure them out and discount them. If he's right, the preferred redirects are either the ones he sells (Elf links) or php redirects. I dunno who's right.

Google has nothing against redirects. In fact they teach us how to create redirects properly. What they DO have a problem with is using redirects deceptively.

I use multiple domains, different ones for different niches. They're cheap and it might help CTR to use something that looks relevant. I do have a generic one that I use for testing new stuff and general link shortening, though.

Also, I get all my domains at namecheap...I was buying them all over and it just gets complicated keeping track and a lot of companies do not have user-friendly dashboards so it becomes a huge pain to manage your domains...namecheap is easy to use and having them all in one place saves a ton of time.

It only helps to increase the number of sales in respect that the URL shortening services can ban your account or simply go out of business as you have no control over them.

Having your own domain, means you control your redirects.

If you plan on building your own business, then best to register a domain name for your business, then use that domain for your redirects.

Alternatively, choose a non-descript/generic domain name that isn't too long.
