Is there a tool that will take an audio and turn it into a video?

I'm trying to find something that I can upload a text file, upload a voiceover of the text file, press a button and then BAM, I have powerpoint style video. Anything out there like that?

I don't want to manually do it. I want to import an audio file and import a text file and then it matches up the voice to the text and out pops a video. Know what I mean?

    Wow- that would be fancy.
I've not come across anything like that- I'm guessing it would be quite complicated for correct timings etc..but there are some clever people out there.

Why not just put the text on PowerPoint slides and record your voice as you read the words. Then just save as a movie file.

Wibbitz does something similar: Wibbitz | Your News in Motion

I don't know of any software that does exactly what you're saying.

    But I want it.

Thanks guys. I'm curious if people would even want this though. It's something that would come in super handy for me, personally, but do you think others would use it?

    I see value in this.

    1. Hire someone to write articles, how-to guide etc
    2. Create video with article and upload to your site, YouTube etc
    3. Make sales, get traffic etc
How much would anyone be willing to spend on a software such as this?

OK so I am doing some thing that is similar to you. Right now, video studio pro x6 ultimate will allow you to do close captions, but it is not perfect and I wish it was more precise. There are words that are wrong. It is not 100% accuracy. Still, it beats typing em in. Also, it breaks the sentences up for you. I like using video studio pro. Most of the work is done for me. This only works in the latest version. Other older versions do not have this feature so do not get em. It is only available in version six.

To some degree, this can be done using Camtasia. To get decent results, you'll first need to train Windows Text to Speech for your own voice (or the voice you'll use in the videos).

Then use the closed caption feature in Camtasia to add closed captions.

If I remember correctly, Camtasia will output a CC file you upload and Youtube will automatically display the closed captions, but if you want to do it on videos hosted elsewhere, you need to do something else???? Sorry, but I just can't recall what needs to be done for other vidoes to display closed captions.

I've done this using my own voice, with decent results. However, I tried it on a video my brother made, and since my PC wasn't trained using his voice, the results weren't very good.

Online text to speech (TTS) converter - SpokenText.net is not bad - converts a plain text file to audio, and the quality is not bad at all)
