Hi! I was wondering if anyone can answer a few kindle questions for me?

1) What are some Kindle giveaway resources? I once read something from another member saying they have places where they go post their Kindle book during its free period and get a lot of free downloads from it. (I already know about the giveaway thread in the WF, I am wondering about additional places)

2) I have an ebook I've been selling on my website for 6 years (and still being sold there). Is it ok for me to repurpose this as a Kindle book? Or is that against Amazon's rules because it is also being sold on my website? (it's original content I wrote 6 years ago)

3) I have a different book than the one mentioned above, which I wrote specifically for Kindle and currently none of the content is being sold or published elsewhere. Can I use some of the content of the book on my blog? As a way of repurposing some of that content in order to build up a website where I can build a list of people interested in that niche.

As far as #2 goes, you can sell your ebook wherever you'd like, unless you put it in the Select program. If you put it in the select program, you're contracted to Amazon only for a short time period. Other than that, when you do put it elsewhere Amazon will price-match to the lowest price point it can find on the web. So you can't try to sell it on Amazon for $4.99, for example, but on your own site for $3.99. When Amazon finds the $3.99 elsewhere, it will change the price on Amazon to $3.99 as well (just an example).

Interesting... so to put it in Select I could "close it off" temporarily on my own site, then start selling it again later after my free giveaway period on Amazon?

You would not be able to put it back on your site until the 90 day Select period was over.

For Select, Amazon demands digital exclusivity for the full 90 days.

Hint - You could sell a CreateSpace version.

    1. There are a lot of "free book day" sites. One example is Author Marketing Club - Free Book Marketing Resources & Tools For Authors.

    3. A lot of authors use their blog posts to create a full e-book, so I don't know why you couldn't do it the other way around.

    1. There are tons of free sites to promote your eBooks on freebie days.
PM me for a Free list.

    2. Yes you can use it as a Kindle books however, you cannot enroll it in KDP Select which requires exclusivity for 90 days.

    3. Yes you can so long as it is not enrolled in KDP select.

There is a thread on this Warrior Forum allowing you to mention your free giveaway ebook. This type of thread usually exists on most internet marketing forums as people love freebies and giveaways.

    1) Join facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, and any other social network you are a part of because they have groups specifically for Kindle authors. You could trade reviews with people on there and get more downloads when you're running a promo.

    2) You could definitely repurpose that content so long as it's a bit different. If it passes Copyscape you should be good to go.

    3) not quite sure about this because I have never taken content from my book and put it on my blog. In my opinion it's just not worth it. You would be better off writing short articles that go over a brief overview of a chapter or two and then posting a link to your book to get all of it.

Yes, but you wouldn't be able to give it away for free because you can only do that whilst it is in the KDP select program and they require that you host exclusively with them.

I have seen quite a few people (including Dean Wesley) simply compile their blog posts and put them up for sale as a "book".

I don't know what Amazon's TOS is in that regards (never looked) but all you have to do is read the reviews on books like that to guage whether it would be a good idea for you or not.

Don't use the content of this book anywhere, so that it may enroll on Select and you may be able to give it away and get reviews.

It's very hard to get reviews if you don't give your ebook away, and even when you do, most people don't care about writing a review, even if they will adore it.

I use freebooksy and they are super max.

Best to be an exclusive amazon. Like you can get on their KDP count down program.

I would use some on my blog as snips. Those help sell the book more.
