Clickbank Affiliate - Question!

Hi All,

A few days ago, I set up an affiliate website (Google Snatch - The FREE Click Formula) and am desperatly trying to get some revenue off of it . . .

Now, I set up Google Adwords, and for 1 day only, set it to £20 a day, to get as many CTR's as possible. However, no one seem's to have completed a purchase and bought the product?

How long does it take for Clickbank sales to be displayed in my account? Just seem's a bit strange that I've had nearly 4,000 impressions, but only 127 clicks?

Simon.

It's almost instant. There is maybe a five minute delay at the most.

But that has nothing to do with ClickBank

It looks like a conversion of 127 divide by 4000 and it is abt 3%.

I know of some instances where buyer instantly asks for refund after they purchase it. In this case, I think it is not reflected out. Any one has this experience?

John, if you are asking whether the transaction would appear in the ClickBank
        account the answer is yes

My suggestion is that you write a review page about google snatch, setup an optin list offering free bonus if they buy google snatch from you and follow up with them until they buy.

Most people will not buy when they first visit a sales page unless these people have done all the research and review about the product and are ready to buy.

When they are ready to buy, that is when your email marketing comes into play.

          Hope that helps.

3% click-thru rate is not bad but can be improved. When no sale is made, it has got to do with your sales page. You must pay attention to your ad too. Your ad must set the right expectations what your propects would see.

Since you are paying for the clicks, you might as well use this to build your list by puttting up an opt-in page. And then follow up with your subscribers. This can reduce your cost dramatically.

Thank you for all of the responses!

Just checked the Clickbank account, I've just made a sale . .. it's not one of you guys feeling sorry for me now is it?! ;-)

What do you all recommend I do with the Adwords? I can't afford £20 per day, so what would be a reasonable amount?

Can't afford it? sure you can - it just paid you 20 quid in commissions, right?

                It's paid for itself.

Reinvest it, and try to get your conversion up. Just 1 more sale from that same amount of traffic, and you are golden. Seriously, at that point it's a money machine that spits out 2 quid for every 1 you put in!!! It's a simple matter of ROI - and this is what ppc (and advertising in general) is all about.

Your CTR is pretty good.. I'd concentrate on conversions. If I only stuck with 5% + ctr words and ads, I'd be leaving a lot of my money on the table. CTR is not always the holy grail. I have a campaign that uses ads with HALF the CTR of my best ads, but they have double the conversions - so I end up with the same amount of sales, but at half the expense.

HaHa well, I spent £20 the other day, but have now fine tuned it . . .

As you say if I get another sale, then it's paid for itself, but that's only if I get 2 sales per day! Ideally I want even more than that! (f course! ;-) )

I started directing the adverts towards affiliate websites, to see if that helps . . Any other ideas? No WSO's please! ;-)

You can have 100% click through rate but if no one buys your product then you will probably need to rethink the article.

Also... (if your budget allows). Create the exact campaign on 7search, and compare the prices of your clicks. You can (probably) get more clicks for your money on there. Sure it won't fix your problem, but you could get more traffic for less money.

I used to pay a lot of attention to my ctr but not anymore. Don't get me wrong ctrs are important the higher it is the better your ad copy and keyword combination.

You want to put yourself in the shoes of the websurfer who landed on your page (which I can't see right now because I'm on a cell phone).

What matters is how compelling your page is. People in general don't want to be sold things. They prefer a recommendation from a friend or concrete proof that a certain product will fulfil their current desire.

                        Hope that helps a bit.

When I want more sales, I simply try to figure out a way to invest more money into ppc

If I have a money machine that spits out $2 for every 1 in insert, I try to shove every penny I can find into it, while slowly seeing if I can get that same $2 when I only insert 99 cents.. the 98.. and so on.

Here's my approach. I first try to get a campaign to pay for itself. If it does that, I start tweaking, trying to squeeze some profit out of it. A little more here, a bit more there.. while trying to drop keywords, etc, that aren't converting. My brother watched me go through this process recently, and asked me if the extra juice was worth the squeeze.. after a month, that campaign went from $200 a month profit, to $1,500.

If I was so inclined, that's the lease payment on a new Lamborghini

Something to think about: I'd think people interested in google snatch are the sort I'd want on a list..

                        Top Gun,

So I should create a different advert for each keyword?

Ok brilliant, just creating an ad for each group like you sugested, then I'll do a variation for each one. Did you get my PM?

I haven't heard many people talk about this, but it's something to keep in mind - every time you tweak anything in your campaign, google seems to wipe out your history.
It can kill your ad impressions while they acrue new stats.
Even something as minor as adding an id to the end of an url for tracking purposes can through a wrench into a smoothly running ad/adgroup/campaign. I've had times when it's taken weeks for everything to run on all cylinders again.
I still split test ads, but I switch them out slowly and carefully once everything starts building up stats in googles eyes.

        Simon,

There are multiple factors that can be at play here. Regarding your CTR, this will be affected by the quality of your ad, your ad position, the keywords you're targeting, etc. I'm not the most experienced Adwords marketer out there, but while your 3% CTR can be improved upon, I don't think it's particularly low. The most I've gotten in the niches I've targeted is around 6%. You really should set up ad variations as well so you can see which ads get you the best CTR.

Also, are you linking directly to the product vendor's sales page? It has been proven over and over that directing people to your own landing page where you have an informative review of the product, produces much better sales conversion rates than just linking straight to the sales letter.

You're going to have to do some testing and tweaking. To get more targeted clicks that are more likely to produce sales conversions, mention the product price in your ad if you aren't already. Your CTR may take a dive, but at least you won't be getting a bunch of useless clicks from freebie seekers.

At this stage it's not Clickbank you should be worried about, but fine tuning your ad campaign. 127 clicks with no sales to a proven sales page might suggest that the clicks you're getting aren't targeted enough, or that you need to adjust your marketing/sales process.
