Subscribing to Multiple Lists With One Signup Form

What autoresponder service allows subscribers choose between lists via one signup form?

So if I wanted subscribers to have one signup form and choose between

Green Car List
Blue Car List
Pink Car List

and have each of those tied to a separate autoresponder campaign, which service could I use?

Getresponse doesn't seem to allow this. YMLP allows separate lists like this, but I can't see how to tie each to a separate autoresponder as opposed to just a regular email list.

    I don't think the big AR players do this because of possible spam complaints down the road. It is very easy for people to get confused using such a system. You probably would need a self-hosted solution. If you do, try not to get blacklisted.

    Interesting point, but I don't understand what you mean about getting confused. Something like this is what I want- but I want the lists to lead to autoresponders, and not a regular email list.

      Well, it's not for other peoples lists. It's for my lists, but I want to break it down. Let's say we are talking about Dogs. Instead of just "sign up for the dogs newsletter" I want it to be

      Choose between:
      -Small Dogs
      -Big Dogs
      -Dog Care
      -Dog Accessories

      And each of those categories would go to a different autoresponder. There has to be a way to do this without having different signup forms.

    I have tried this via JavaScript codes, and it can work.

    The process is:

    When the visitor click "submit" button, the JavaScript code will submit to a URL via AJAX (background processing) first, then submit to your normal submission url.

    We might not have a webform that does this, but we have ways of accomplishing what you want.

    Step - 1 Set up your first autoresponder to send them a survey
    help topic - how do I create a survey
    help topic - How do I include the survey link in my message so the respondent data isn't anonymous?

    Step 2 - Trigger an autoresponder (or sequence) based on their answers to the survey questions.

    help topic - How do I create an Event-Based Autoresponder? you care about #5 "Data Changed" which can trigger an autoresponder based on survey replies and #6 "Autoresponder sent" which will trigger the next (and future) autoresponder in the sequence.

    If you do it this way you don't get charged for having the same email address in multiple campaigns (or lists).

    Mick has probably suggested the best way. However, you could make each of the following be its own link...

    Choose between:
    -Small Dogs (Make this a link to a squeeze form you place on a simple HTML page)
    -Big Dogs (Make this a link to a squeeze form you place on another HTML page)
    -Dog Care (Make this a link to a squeeze form you place on another HTML page)
    -Dog Accessories (Make this a link to a squeeze form you place on another HTML page)

    Each opt-in form would enter subscribers into the list you wanted them to be in. And if you make each squeeze page with a form on it open in a different window, a reader could subscribe to more than one list.

    Aweber let you automatically sign people up to multiple lists with 'triggers'. That said I left aweber cause they annoy the hell out of me.

    GetResponse can do this. They use to have an example on their site. Not sure it's still there. It's been a while.

    However, any auto-responder company can do this if they provide you with the HTML form code, most do. It just requires some pretty simple JavaScript.

      GetResponse can provide HTML code for our static webforms.

      You might want to test which captures the most subscribers. Research has shown that the more info you ask for the lower the conversion rate to a subscriber.
