Question To Marketers Selling Physical Products

I am looking to promote physical products on my website mainly through content reviews. However when I look at the keywords for most of the products, they seem to be heavily dominated by search ads, google product images and amazon which made me wonder if it is even worth trying.

For those of you who are generating affiliate revenue selling physical products, is your revenue consistent month after month or is your sales dipping because of the clutter on top of the search results.

How are you currently getting traffic to your website?

I get traffic from people looking for reviews. Someone looking for reviews of a laptop, for instance, is going to use a search term like HP Pavilion 15-n024nr review rather than HP Pavilion 15-n024nr.

If you do a search for the first term I mentioned, you'll notice there is ZERO competition for the term. Target terms like it and you will do well.

      Thanks. This helps.

I guess it would make sense to target long tail like product name + review, product name + discount, product name + model number etc.

        That would be correct.

Lots of ways to drive traffic.

          - SEO
          - Video marketing
          - Article Marketing
          - Email marketing as in a newsletter
          - PPC

          Those should get you profitable.

After that you can test Banner ads (media buying) and Facebook

          Cheers

Great idea that can help many people out that are selling physical because there are many people looking for reviews on a specific product instead of just targeting the main keyword that are harder to grab. you should also try to go to the Google keyword tool and research some new keywords that don't have competition on them with the word " Review" in it to get it targeted and specified !
      Hope That Helped

I agree with this! This is the same strategy I use and it works well for me.

I've noticed that I tend to rank better on Bing and most of my traffic comes from there. I don't really know why, but I don't mind.

      Cheers,

We do about $5k a month using banner ads on high traffic blogs. The $5k is not total profits, but we do well.

What you have to remember is that you need to search for the right target audience, that is a must, and gain their trust before you make bigger sales. That is how we do it. You need to really focus in on your audience, its not the be all and end all, but it is very important if you want to do well in this world.

Video marketing can be quick and if you take the time to learn first then fairly simple to do.
There are new products coming out all the time so keep informed of what is coming out and keep offering great content to your viewers or readers.

    Good luck
