Best Way To Backup Wordpress Website

Im going crazy with the manual install and transfers.

Does anyone have a better reliable way to move wordpress websites from one hosting to another w/o the manual way of moving everything by hand.

There are several cloning plugins that will allow you to take a site from one place and deposit it in another location. I use a suite of products all designed for backing up and moving or cloning entire wordpress installs. All I need is the domain, cPanel login details and if it lives in a folder or sub-domain. Then the same info for the location it's going to be installed in and the software does everything including renaming URLs, database...the lot.

It takes 10-20 seconds to type in the info then you go about your business for 10 minutes (depending on your speed) and it will notifiy you when the new site has been created and asks you if you'd like to go to the login page now. It's brilliant and It was called "Magic Site Cloner".

Here's the (now closed) WSO http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...plication.html. The site it links to is also closed so even though I can't help you get it I can tell you that such software does exist and these are the standards you're looking for as it's excellent software which saves me many hours or work.

Maybe the new owner will find this thread and enlighten us as to what's happening with it. Having said that, there seem to be many solutions and Google is your friend in this case too - I just did a quick search and found many "cloning wordpress" hits. I know it's possible to do it manually but cloning software does make life a lot easier - even if it's just to build a bare chassis install with all your favourite plugins.

Here's a (war room) link to a cloning plugin that is being given away to all War Room members. I've not tried it. http://www.warriorforum.com/war-room...hing-free.html

I've always used BackupBuddy, and I really like it.

Just export the database and save the entire root folder once a week.

Have you tried to back up your site through c Panel. If you are using a C Panel Site, then you can use back up wizard option available in you c panel. It will easily backup your all files and databases and it is very reliable and time saving.

BackupBuddy. Worth every dollar they ask for it, and invaluable if you move more than one site per month. Migration goes like this: take an one-click backup, download the migration script, upload script and the backup file to the receiving server, and click couple of times.

Of course BackupBuddy can also do normal backups. I'm using both iThemes Stash and Amazon S3 to store the external ones.
