INTERNET MARKETING

Hi All,
I hear lot of stories about sites getting hacked. What do you need to do make sure you are safe.

Any plug in's which can be used?

What are the things you need to be careful about the hosting account ?

Does password protecting directories help?

How do you protect your site from SQL injections ?

You need a host with the following and this is for any site as it is the most secure but keep in mind nothing is 100% secure.

Linux server running cpanel 11+ with php 5+ and Apache compiled with PhpSuExec

Plugins.. I would not trust my securty to because the plugins are built on the same core coding as wordpress.

PhpSuExec secures you from SQL Injection - also making sure no folders or files are running with permissions of 777

Someone being able to see which plugin versions I was using was one reason I got hacked last year. Since then I have learned to ftp a blank file into my themes folder and same blank file into plugins folder on the wordpress site. Open up a blank text file, name it index.html and upload it. It provides one layer of protection.
