Buying Solo Ads...for what?

From my understanding, buying solo ads is basically having your website listed in someone elses newsletter, correct?

What is the next step/goal? Is it to sell that user a product/service, or just to get them to sign up to your own mailing list?

    Either, more or less.

I think you're looking at it from the wrong end though - advertising shouldn't be the starting point but rather a means to a predetermined end. If you don't have a need to give someone money for something you can do yourself then you'd probably do well to not give them the money at all.

Basically you pay somebody to send your sales copy or ad in an email to their list. You pay by # of clicks and it's fairly expensive advertising compared to some others.

It would be a waste to not try to get someone to opt-in to your own list with solo ads. A good solo ad provider will have a large number of buyers in their list and 30% or more of those clicks on your message can turn into opt-ins.

A lot of folks offer a freebie on the front end (rather than selling something) for opting-in on the squeeze page that a link in the email points to.

List building, advertising, money-making, SEO, and affiliate marketing software freebies are good things to offer.

You buy solo ads to get exposure to someone else's list. It is good way to grow your list, as long as:
        1. You have a good funnel and a good copy
        2. You have a trusted solo seller

You can have only a free offer and then follow up with your new subscribers and sell them later on (rather than while they opt in)

It's is like every paid traffic - a lot of testing. But when you find the golden point - You are VERY good to go

If you're trying to break into affiliate marketing, then you'd buy solo ads to build your own list and sell affiliate products to those on your list to earn comissions.

I think solo ads is a great source for targeted traffic, and the cost is reasonable if compared with PPC. For get the most out of it, you'd better have a good sales funnel, and it can convert visitors to subscribers, then your sales funnel will followup them automatically, and will promote offers to them.

Solo ads are an excellent way to get away from Google's long list of reasons to not run your ad. Solo ads tend to also yield better results provided you have a good solo ad seller for your niche.

My recommendation is to do several sample runs, 100 clicks for instance, with different ad copy to find out what works, and if this seller's list has buyers in your niche.

Solo ads are replacing Google Adwords for a lot of marketers as a way to get targeted traffic, and you don't have to worry about your account being closed because you were sending someone to a sales page instead of "good fresh content".

have a squeeze page on your domain and send the traffic from solo ads to this page, in this case you can collect the email addresses and use them for further marketing via an autoresponder.....
