Fitness niche not worth doing?

Hi everyone, I am new here.
I am also a newbie to internet marketing but have learned a fair amount in the past few years on/off. I have decided to give it a go. I know the basics, start a blog, ebook etc. but I also have a few questions.

Is it worth spending time on a popular niche (fitness) that everyone is doing? Or should I find a niche that is not too common? What would be the best way to find that niche? Should I hire a ghostwriter in the beginning to get a headstart?

There is just too much information to process. What would be a good way to just start?

Thanks in advance !

Fitness MAY be good if you specialize on a sub-niche, muscle building is pretty hot at the moment. I'd avoid weight-loss tho. There are some who say they make a lot in the weight-loss niche but I personally found the niche badly converting.

There is no such thing as a bad niche... a niche is a niche but you have to plan on how you can handle it and compete...

If you dont have this plan of attack then you will struggle along.

Give yourself a clear direction :-)

lol that Google trends search says everything.
Shows you how small of a market IM is compared to weight loss. Love it.
    Really puts things into perspective.

Lamartsy. you're all over the place. that's your first problem. breathe.. relax. go to your happy place

As far as what niche you should do.. I can't say what's going to be the best niche for you.. Unless I really know your skill set, talents, and interests..

But in general.. here's what I'd say...

Go where the money is. Health, Wealth, Relationships.

There are TONS of niches inside there. What are you actually interested in?
    Start there.

As long as it's a HOT market, that has money is willing to spend it and is desperate.. you're good.

Fitness & Weight loss rocks. there's tons of money in. money enough for everyone. who cares if other people are doing it.. no reason why you can't do it too.

So if you want to roll with the fitness market..
Find out what the hottest products are right now in fitness.. pick a traffic source.. and just attack it! and ignore the rest.

So let's say you pick Fat Loss Factor or garcinia cambogia.. Well then pick your traffic source.. Facebook, youtube, etc. What are you interested in? Pick 1. stick with it. and just hammer it out.

    Youtube? Cool.
create 100 videos on youtube for fat loss factor & garcinia cambogia (and they are actually decent lol) You know that those products convert.. so it's just a matter of jumping in front of people who are interested. If you put out 100 videos on youtube.. surely you will make sales lol.. even if you suck at getting them to rank.

    Facebook? cool.
If you study facebook PPC and what's already working and just throw stuff out there.. you'll do great.. but you won't make money if you sit on the sideline and don't actually do stuff.

    That's my advice to you.

I'm in fitness and it's great! The key question is though, do you enjoy writing about fitness?

It's like any other niche, create a site, build it up, participate in your community, and make money.

Fitness is one of my areas of expertise. There is a lot of money in this niche, you just have to find it. Every niche has some drawbacks to it. If you enjoy fitness you will do well with it.

Go into a niche where there isn't too much competition. I think this is your gut instinct. Follow it.

Since fitness is a popular niche, if your work isn't high quality people will look elsewhere and you'll have difficulties finding loyal followers. It might be a difficult one if you don't have some innovative idea that makes you different and special.

If the area within fitness that you are covering is more specific you might be able to cover ideas that aren't over saturated, and there find your audience.

You mentioned that you're not quite sure where to start. In this case it might not be a bad idea to hire a ghostwriter or to purchase some articles to get you going. A ghostwriter might have some ideas about how to get moving on your idea. They may have written start up articles for other niches or the same one, and could offer advice as to what gets the best traffic and attention right from the beginning. They might also know what works and doesn't work. They will want you to be successful so that you keep hiring them.

Best of luck in whatever you choose!

It's true that fitness niche is highly populated, but it's not difficult if you know where should you get targetted traffic from. If you learn good knowledge and tactics to make best use of advertisment then you can do it very easily.

You should get into what you really want to get into, where you will have no problem maintaining interest enough to continue working on it. For someone starting out, that is the way to go, imo. Anything that will help you stay motivated so that you learn what you need to learn while doing it. You can branch out into other things later.

From my point of view Fitness related product are most demanding affiliate product right now in the web market.
so i think you are choosing a right product but the most important thing to get success is-
    Traffic.
From where you will get the traffic, if you go for free organic traffic than you have to work hard to get traffic and its take long time to get success.
If you buy any service related to traffic than you will get Fake traffic from there only software bots.
So its a big question how you will get traffic to your affiliate sites.if you can get the trick how to get traffic than you really rocks
    Thanks.

It's tough to crack, but from my experience, the niche is dying for some expert information. There is a lot of psuedo science out there that drowns out the legit information. SOOOOOO if you could provide your audience with legit information backed by peer reviewed studies instead of "bro science" then you could do well.

Find a niche that YOU are really passionate about and in which you have some experience.

With the huge popularity of gyms all over the world, the Fitness niche is doing great. I've personally chose it because I like working out and eating healthy, and I've had some great results.

But if you never went to a gym and eat junk food all day, you simply can't teach other people how to become fit. So choose something that you're good at...

Looks like most people here tend to give advice to work on the niche we actually passionate about, how if the things I'm passionate about are only those on toughest niches? Then I simply work on the niche which I think less competitive so I can have the chance to generate more income, how do you guys think I should do this or I should just stick to the niche I'm familiar with even though it's probably too tough for me to handle?

After months or years of working on a niche, you will have tough times when you will feel like giving up. But the passion for that niche will keep you going!

If you choose a niche that you have no connection with, you will lose your interest and probably give up after some time.

For example I always feel motivated to write about Fitness and Nutrition, but was never motivated to write about tonsil stones (this was a website that I built some time ago, wrote 3 articles and then lost all my interest )

The fitness niche is still very profitable but it's more receptive to fitness professionals than to internet marketers (of course if you cover both bases then you can do very well in this niche).

It's not that its not worth doing - it's just not the easiest niche for a newbie to get into unless you have something valuable to contribute.

What can YOU teach someone about fitness? Do you know about fitness nutrition? Can you create fitness videos? Do you know all about the latest fitness methods? Have you got a fitness success story you can tell people about?

If you just start targeting general fitness then YES it's probably going to be tough. Is it worth to find a sub-niche in the fitness niche? Definitely.

If 'everyone' is marketing in it and there's lots of people making money then it's obviously profitable and this is a good thing.

    Niche down....

i.e. fitness > fitness for men > fitness for men over 50 > fitness for men over 50 who've recently had a heart attack

    Get the idea?

Try and be as focused as possible and target a REALLY specific sub-set of the market where you can be the shark instead of being a small fish in a big pond.

I'd personally prefer a popular niche because almost always the bigger niches have enough for everyone and they can give you a sustainable income if you can figure out the tricks of the trade.

In the health niche, I think it's better to go for "problem solving" sub niches. Don't go for weight loss - rather go for "binge eating". I hope you get the drift.

If you can write yourself, fine else you can try iWriter.
