Solo ads to make money ??

I am considering investing some money into solo ads. Anyone got any good advice on this type of marketing? What would the best solo ads sites to use and how to target a certain niche? Or is it all just a waste of time?

Cheers

Solo ads are good for building a list but not for selling things. After buiding a list then you can build that relationship and later try to sell something to that list. If you want money right now you are better off using pay per click advertising.

Ya everybody is doing it. But you need to have your funnel set up at first.

This is a response you made to a post that said you should have your funnel in place first.

IF you do not know what a funnel is you should probably learn that first before you spend any money on a solo ad. because if you don't, then, 3 months from now you will start a thread that says the following:

Don't take out a solo ad and push offers. That's not the best use of your solo ad dollars. Instead, build a list and promote that list via solo ads. Once you have a decent number of subscribers, make different lists for different products and promote those on your main list. Gain credibility by sharing quality content. Hit them once you've got them where you need them. In other words, sell when you've built up trust. Cold selling via solo ads might not yield a decent ROI.

Good advice and when I use solos I offer free signup type offers.
All I really want is the names on MY list.

I also test small and I TRACK all paid advertisements. (Including Solos)

Exactly. This is why AD RETARGETING is so hot right now. Marketers finally woke up to the fact that the VAST MAJORITY of people don't buy based on the first or even first six ad impressions. They need a RELATIONSHIP or DIALOG. And this is where email marketing comes in.

What about Google Adwords? If you're company/website offers something legitimate and worthy, you should be able to do well with that type of paid advertising.

There are platforms like safe-swap but i think your best bet would be to look for marketers in your niche that way you know you are dealing with reliable and trust folks.

Also create a squeeze page that should convert at least 40% and sell something to them immediately you can at least break even from your first campaign and make more profits down the line.

Sorry to break you bubble ...

True ...Using Squeeze page (If you use Free to Join or Free Report).
and True you should get 35% to 60% (with a good Solo list)

False ... Using Squeeze page (If you are selling something).
and False ..... you will be lucky to get 2% (If even that) with selling.

      I want Names !
Then my autoresponder series take care of the rest.
First three with help and freebies.
      Then a soft sell.
Then More help .... then sell and and continue the pattern.

      Seasons Greeting to ALL

Sorry to "break" yours, but they are usually "burst".

OP: You really can't judge solo ads on the whole because there's some good sources and there's a vast pool of bad ones. The best thing to do is avoid using the hear-say list that people throw around and contact people in your niche to see if they are willing to fire out something to their list for the right price.

I get a lot of traffic and sales with solo ads, you do have to know how to convert it into sales, and find the right lists for your offers.

but yes I know guys who are making millions of dollars a year with solo ads. the art of learning to turn solo ad traffic into money is a skill worth taking the time to master

Solo ads have been the best and most profitable source of paid advertising.

Runner up would be FB ads.

If you want to make them work, you will find a way.

You could make sales with solo ads no doubt.

The traffic will have to be targeted

in order to get the maximum results.

I agree with Daniel above that there are a number of really good list building resources right here in the forum, just as there are some really bad ones.
But to go with your question in the first place, yes, done correctly you can make money with solo ads. Just beware of who you deal with and do a bit of home work before investing both time and money. Find a good mentor or FB group and learn first before leaping into it like I did..

You can use safe swaps for solo ads but there are other venues such as Facebook and Skype groups that may work better. Use solo ads to build your list with a free giveaway, deliver quality content, then sell when your list is warm and responsive (high open and click through rates)

Yes, you can make some cash from solo ads, but it will take time. But It does help you to build your list though, so you can start building connections with people.

It's all about the funnel and AR sequence. A quality OTO in your funnel will recoup some of your initial investment and the AR sequence is where you will build the relationship and make your money.

You can register with Safe-Swaps and sell solo ads there. Besides, you can buy solo ads and do ad swaps there to increase your list size.

That place is safe and there are lots of members making good money there.

Solo ads can serve you in different ways, like building your own list, for traffic and promotion, for product sales as well, for this you need to find an accurate niche solo ads provider to get good results.

In 2010 I was doing Solos ads daily. Bringing on average anywhere from 100-500 people on my list a day. Making sales hand over fist.

However, there ARE scammers out there and you need to track your traffic. Meaning, you need to set up a tracking link for each and every solo ad you run. More specifically you need a tracking link that will give you information on where the traffic is coming from.

I can not tell you how many times I had people put my link into traffic exchanges or pay for hits in india.

However when you find the good ones... they are usually pretty good.

Its definitely not a waste of time. You will mostly find solo ads in the health, and primarily the MMO niche. You can make money with solo ads, but in my experience they are awesome for building a list quickly and testing out your sales funnels. Once you have found your most operable and profitable sales funnel then you can take it over to PPC marketing. This is what I do at least

    Hi,

They can be bit hit and miss but there are some fantastic sellers out
there it's just a matter of finding them and then getting a list of around
    5 - 10 and rotating between them.

Rotating allows you to go back a few weeks later and by then they should have
some fresh leads that you can tap into and build your buyers list from.

Also you have to make sure that you have a strong well tested funnel in
place first so that you know what you can afford to pay for your traffic
and this will give you a clear picture of what you can afford in terms of
    making paid traffic buying decisions.

So when people say that Solo Ads don't work...

...Go and check out their funnels first.

    All the best
    G.B.

Solo ads are a nice part of a well balanced marketing campaign. For solo ads I'd focus on:

    1. Your budget. Make sure you do a little research and get the most reputed solo ads for your money. There are some dodgy providers out there and your budget could just vanish without so much as a genuine lead if you pick the wrong solos :/

    2. Your monetization. First, focus on lead capture. Then focus on ensuring you have a nicely honed funnel that tickles the leads fancy.

Get all your ducks in a row before you embark on a solo ad campaign - if you're offering an IM product, there are tons of potential people in this forum who may be able to help.

    Hey there Richard,

I am currently using Solo ads as a the predominant source of traffic for my sites.

The reason you should use them is because they give you a guaranteed amount of clicks which usually float around $0.25 to $0.50 per click.

Now this may not sound too cheap, but remember these are targeted clicks of people who are interested in what you have to offer.

You can often see 60-70% opt in rates with the right squeeze page.

Also there is no shortage of sellers!

Google "IM Solo Ad Rolodex 2013" I believe its a fellow warrior who compiled it.

Its the best $7 you will ever spend!
