New channels I can push my blog content out to?

Hey everyone,

I recently began running a parody / satire website, Spin Atlantic. Over the past couple weeks since I've been running it, I've gotten around 6 or 7 thousand views. That isn't that bad for the first couple weeks of a brand new site, but I'm having trouble thinking of creative ways to drive the traffic to my website.

Currently, for the most part, I've been linking articles to Reddit and have a few of them cycling through stumbleupon. SU usually gives me 100-200 views per day and Reddit is very dependent on whether or not people upvote my content. I had a couple articles that got to the top of a subreddit and generated around 1k views - though that isn't to be expected for every article I post (and I don't want to get my site blacklisted from Reddit which would suck)

So, can any of you guys give me tips on generating traffic? More specifically, where I can link my content to get it views? Trying to generate a following is tough; especially the first few people who follow / share / comment on your content.

Thanks!

He said 6-7k views since he started the blog.

@OP, SEO is a great long term solution for obtaining blog traffic.

Have you tried Facebook humor groups? There are quite a number of them. Make sure you pick the ones that most closely fit your style or brand of humor. People can be quite harsh on FB groups so make sure you hang out at the group to get a feel for the lay of the land before dropping a link. As always, don't just dump and run. Make sure you engage people.

I actually hadn't thought of that before. Couple questions:

1.) Are these groups easy to find?
2.) I've got a Facebook page for my website. Can I post to the group via the page or does it have to be from my personal Facebook account? Not that I have any qualms about posting from my personal one, but I'm trying to avoid doing the whole "Message every friend you've got and tell them to like your page" approach. It's a bit of an experiment to see how I can grow it organically.

      Thanks

I think only personal accounts can join groups to post in, but I am not 100 percent sure. I don't think I have ever seen a business page post in any of the groups I am in. Leastways, none that I could tell right away was a business page.

And Facebook frowns on making accounts for non-users, right?

Your page can post on other pages. I do it and see it all the time.
If you want to get real dirty-like and spark up some social proof, you could post the link on your fanpage, then comment on it with your personal profile.

I don't do this, but I know of people making it work quite well.
Also, would rotating proxy servers and upvoting your own redit link be considered blackhack? :S Just an idea
