My FRANK suggestion to anyone trying to "make it." (sorry)

Hey Warriors,

I just logged on again and have been looking around the main forum and I see that a lot of
people here are constantly asking if some way or another way is the best way to make a
killing.

If anyone is up to hear my thoughts, I am more than happy to give it...

At the end of the day, you need to remember a few things.

First off, internet marketing-- whether it is flipping sites, selling info products, building a
list, selling on Fiverr, or whatever else you are doing-- is, at its CORE merely
marketing that happens to be on the internet. Why does that point matter?

I see a lot of people purchasing specific products because every product always promises
the secret to make money online. I know the feeling people get when they see a new
product... because I used to get that exact same feeling.

It's almost like gambling. You have tried other things... but you get this feeling in your
stomach. "Username123 has made so much money using his or her secret method... I know
I've tried other things... but what if THIS is the real secret... if I pass up on this, all the
work I've done was for nothing and I'll never make it!"

I'm betting that's the most basic, primal feeling you get. I used to get it a lot too. It's
extremely powerful which is why you see those 3 billion dollar buildings up and down the
strip of Las Vegas (built from the money lost by those who have gambled the years prior).

When you play craps you say the same thing... "I lost the last few rounds... but if I quit
now, what if it starts to get hot?"

At the end of the day, you don't need to spend all your time (and money) purchasing
SPECIFIC products regarding how to make money online. That isn't the trick
to making money--whether online or offline.

The secret is to LEARN MARKETING as a whole. Don't learn "internet
marketing"-- learn MARKETING.

That is what all of the "big dogs" in IM have in common. They never bothered to learn
"internet marketing"... they learned marketing and applied it to the internet.

That's all you need.

Instead of purchasing loads of WSOs, look at what WSOs are selling and try to figure out
why. Is it the message? Is it the promise? Is the copywriting as a whole powerful? Maybe
the subject of the post is jaw-droppingly good?

Take note of the IM MARKET as a whole-- all markets have a life of their own. They
breathe. They go through phases. They grow up and "change." There are always fads.
There are always black hat techniques. There are always a variety of new ways to "make
money."

The problem is that once these new ways become fads, they become SATURATED and
diminishing returns comes around. It is possible to make money in any niche... but at a
certain point it becomes MUCH harder.

Try to see how the market is acting, growing, and changing... and try to stay, if not at
the head of it, at least right at the front.

You don't want to be 'part of the crowd'... you want to be the outside observer who steps
in when it is time to make a killing. You don't want to be one of the people panning for
gold... you want to be the one selling the shovels.

Think LONG term.

At the end of the day, you just need to remember that, if you want to be TRULY
successful, you don't try to make money using the newest method and become an
"internet marketing specialist"-- you become a "MARKETING SPECIALIST."

When you know marketing as a whole, you can move into new fields in every aspect and
be able to hold your own without someone else telling you what you need to do to be
successful.

That means you can ride the FRONT of the wave instead of paddling behind it.

Also you save a heck of a lot of money by doing this.

PS- You're always supposed to put a PS right? I didn't want to break that rule. I have
nothing else to say. Just read what I said above and start looking at IM as marketing that
happens to be on the internet. Start looking at successful products not as what you NEED
but as a way to hone your own selling skills.

Doing that will ALWAYS keep you ahead of the pack.

Cheers to everyone who is up late (or early, I guess) getting work done. That has already
given you an edge in the game of life.

Love you all.

PPS- Sorry that I didn't format this post all snazzy and whatnot. If you take the time to
read all of this, at least you'll have less competition from the people who refused to read it
because it didn't have stock photos and a tahoma headline!

I agree that following fads is stupid. Find a niche, and write as much content as possible on that niche. The main thing online that is clearly not a fad is getting free traffic from the search engines. Unlike Facebook or Twitter, for example, which could change its rules at any time, once you have written an article, all search engines in the world have access to it and can publish it in their results. Those articles are not going to go away. They stay there forever as long as your website or blog is up.

Note: Yes, you can pick the wrong niche. This is the hardest part. But once you find it, there should be no reason you can't succeed other than lack of action or doing stupid stuff like black-hat marketing.

I believe the reason people struggle to make money online is because they try to do everything at once, but i do agree with you: LEARN marketing and apply it to internet.

It may seem difficult, there are literally 1000 ways to make a living online but the way it reaches you, that is what you have to learn.

If you ask me what i believe is the best way to make money online, i would say Solo ads because no matter what new business or opportunities appear in the future, people will always look for traffic and list owners to promote their offers.

      Cheers!!

You are so right. Its funny that nobody ever wants to admit this.I guess they are all afraid of the consequence letting that secret out that succeeding in IM doesn't require buying products its all about knowing about marketing.

good post, I cannot bag anyone who buys WSO's as I use to buy em all, and never USE them.

Somethings change, and shiney objects will always be here, however 1000 years ago, today and 1000 years after you read this, marketing principles never change, build a list of prospects, give them stuff for free, help them, then offer them stuff.

While there are 1000 ways to make money online itself, That same formula above helped changed my life. True.

The secret to marketing, and online wealth is that there is no SECRET just hard work, dedication and perseverance.

Excellent post and some great points in there.

I think most people who are trying to make money online are just plain lazy.....

Most people "for some stupid reason" seem to think that theirs a button on the internet somewhere, where you can press it and money falls into there lap.

It's not their fault, it's these daft products which promise to make people rich.

Like any other profession, you have to work and work hard!

Thanks for your sharing, and I agree with you.

When I started learning Internet marketing, I take it as Internet things, nor marketing, so I tried many Internet ways to try to make some money, such as setup blogs, write articles, make videos, etc.

Finally, I realized that Internet marketing is still marketing, and I need to learn how to sell, then everything changed, and I began to focus on marketing, and build my own sales funnel, and my only task is to bring target traffic to my sales funnel, and I am trying to improve my sales funnel everyday, and I am learning copywriting skills everyday.

A very good post. I have been reading now for about a month on IM. But it basically gets down to : Create an audience and make them follow you. The way HOW you do this changes from decade to decade, from year to year and from day to day. I have had an overload on articles about SEO, backlinks etc. Ad, although they are relevant in todays world, I'm sure we'll laugh about these in 10 years from now. But if you know how to SELL something then should be able to do that anuwhere, everywhere. Now, having said that, and having not a lot of experience in IM, let's get to work..

I think you are spot on, but I also think many people flock to IM with the hopes of push button fast money. There is no interest to learn marketing, just to finally find that one product that shares the secret they have been searching for. You know, that one that has been keeping them from internet riches???

They will read your post, see too much work and not enough fast cash involved in learning a craft.

Still I think it was worthwhile to post. Maybe a few people will see the light

I agree. If you learn the basic principles of marketing, everything else becomes much easier. That is why I love reading stuff from guys like Zig Zigler and Napolean Hill.

Their hay days were long before the internet, but a lot of what they say still holds true. i liked this article specifically. 13 Lessons From Napolean Hill and Zig Zigler That All Entrepreneurs Should Know

IM is like crack and it's always great to get another hit. The trick is to move from being the addict over to becoming the dealer...and that's a big shift...

Great post here. Well worth the read. Human psychology has never changed so marketing principles (persuasion and influence) are key to learn and master...

I think too many fall for the IM myth to start with.

Just like any other business - and yes tyhe overheads are low - it has to be run like a business.

Don't believe that you don't have to do anything to succeed.

Remember: Internet Marketing comprises 2 parts... the internet and marketing. The internet is only the means of connecting with your customers. 80% is marketing pure and simple.

Another fault (and one that I am guilty of) is that people rely on their biz to pay the bills too son, rather than reinvest whatever sales they get back into scaling the business.

Bottom line is that top marketers are tops because they know how to market... and part you and your cash. whatever your preferred approach is, you will always find someone telling you that you are wrong, because they have a vested interest and agenda.

Just some random thoughts to consider...

A lot of freelancers have this "what do I need to do" deer-in-the-headlights thing going on when they get started.

Seriously, get a good portfolio (even if only a few samples) on your website, and pick from the thousand ways to market yourself and do it until you get clients.

When you get down to it, the simplicity of needing to do the [hard] work is the easy button. At least the only easy button you are likely to find.

Too many people do not make it in IM because they expect it to be making money on autopilot . Problem is there are too people out there making outlandish promises and many believe it because they want to believe it , they need to believe it . It will be their salvation , so they believe .

People who want your money feed on this . Tell most to choose between the easy way and the hard way . Which way are most going to choose . You guessed it . We choose to believe the easy way because thats what we are hoping for.

No business can run unattended while we sleep on the beach . Work hard on something and it will bring rewards . Be patient and learn from your mistakes . We all make mistakes . Just try not to make those same mistakes over and over again .

Try and focus on one thing . Say to yourself this is my goal and I will work one or two hours on it everyday . Set aside that time and stick to the plan .
The more u do something the better u get at it . Practice does make perfect .
