How much $ does it cost having someone ghostwrite an ebook plus having made the website plus ads?

Hello,

How much $ does it cost (ca.) to hire someone to write an ebook (ca. 120-140 pages) about e.g. specific topic in weight loss plus also having the sales page build (e.g. squeeze page that may also be indroduced by a video), literally having done everything from A to Z without doing something on my own (except being the contractor)?
I heard Frank Kern saying it does cost about $600 to have someone write an ebook.
What do you think?

Kind regards
Frank

I offer something like this for $1,000 and honestly I don't see how you can really charge much less for that unless you're taking work that comes from a non-native speaker or, at best, a very poor native speaker.

That rate covers a roughly minimum wage rate and enough to cover the taxes so anyone doing it for less is going to be pretty hungry for work or looking to build a portfolio.

In my opinion $1,000 seems fair, if you want great content? $1,000 may be on the lower end.

I know a few reputable content creators that would charge $300 for about TEN pages, so that's just a rough gauge.

A 120+ page book with sales page included? If you want real content?

    Will cost money.

You CAN definitely get it done cheaper on elance/freelancer/odesk, but will the quality be good? Who the hell knows.

    Just one guy's opinion.

I think its extremely difficult to even estimate the cost of something like that because it's such a multifaceted project. For some service providers 1000$ wouldn't even cover the sales copy, for others you may get the whole ball of wax for that price. Considering it would be an A to Z project including content, (& 100+ pages is a lot of content), web design, graphics, several pages sales/squeeze/thank you ect I'd be weary of any "bargains".

I agree that $1,000 is do-able but definitely on the low end. I've seen lots of awful writers selling in the $500 range but you'd want to stay far away from most of those.

Range between $1k to $1.5k....I say you should prepare 2k because not only is the content of the ebook important, the sales page is also very important.

You should get the best copywriter you can afford for your sales page.

The problem is too many people with not enough money to invest
in quality are flooding the market with low end crap... and there are
plenty of people willing to produce low end crap for low end pay.

If I were embarking on a fully integrated project I'd expect to pay quality
producers somewhere in the range of $10K for the whole package.

And I promise you the results would reflect the difference in quality and nvestment.

There is no blanket answer for this.

It would depend on the content - what kind of content and how much content do you need put in.

It would also depend on whether you needed pictures in it.

The cost would also vary greatly depending on the quality of the writer and the country of origin.

PM me if you need more info.

    All the best. Regards.

ebooks take research and a lot of time to create. Anything contractor that charges under $1,000 will not be able to provide a quality ebook.

For your niche specifically, you will find plenty of outstanding writers that can crank out an ebook in no time. Unfortunately, they are not health and fitness experts. You may be able to find health and fitness experts, but chances are, they aren't outstanding writers. That is why it can be difficult and costly to find the right person.

Yes eBooks are a lot of work, especially in the fitness niche and if you want it to be good! $1,000+, because a good ghostwriter is going to charge at least $10 per page. And if it's a health and fitness expert, it's gonna be more.

This is usually a recipe for failure. Outsourcing is ideal if you already have a profitable business strategy and you just want to automate what you already have going for you.

Starting from nothing with the mindset of "just throw money at the problem and let someone else do the hard work" is basically begging for failure and wasting all your money.

It is highly unlikely that someone is going to be able to write a good sales page for an ebook product unless they have a lot of experience or input from potential customers in that niche. And that requires someone who either knows the niche or is willing to research it in depth (which costs more money). Also, you need someone who actually knows how to write a sales page to begin with, which is a rare find. Sure you will find cheap writers who will give you garbage for a low price, but will it make sales? Unlikely.

The minimum any REAL writer would charge for that is $1500.

More if you want one who specializes in the health & fitness niche.

The sales page will mean another couple hundred - more if you want a copywriter who knows what he/she is doing.

I'm capable of real writing and wouldn't be opposed to knocking out that length of book for $500.00 if I had time, wanted to pursue freelance writing and could use a little extra cash for some easy work.

More if you want one who specializes in the health & fitness niche.
What, like a doctor? A trained nutritionist? Is that the kind of expert specialization you are talking about? No offense if that is an area you specialize in (health and fitness), but it ain't rocket science, and there isn't anything in any weight loss ebook that hasn't been regurgitated, simply phrased differently. It is actually a pretty simple topic to cover, requiring little expertise as there isn't any occult, confusing or intricate knowledge concerning weightloss.

There are NO secrets that anyone cannot gain through common sense and just a little bit of research in the health and fitness niche. Quite frankly, unless you are a Dr. or some other profession in the health field that requires 4+ more years of college, any competent writer/researcher can be 'specialized' with just a day or two of focused research.

The sales page will mean another couple hundred - more if you want a copywriter who knows what he/she is doing.
I don't need to look at your sig for it to be obvious to me that you are a content writer and not a copywriter. No offense, but you have things the wrong wy round here, IMO. You are suggesting the OP drop at least $1500 in a niche that any good writer can tackle like a 'specialist' and then $200 on a sales letter.

You have people that drop $XX,XXX on sales pages. And I guarantee you the info product (their weight loss ebook, etc.) that those sales pages are pushing cost less.

I would suggest to the OP if you are hell-bent on dropping $1000+ on an ebook that you drop that $1500.00 on a copywriter and then find someone to write it in that $500 range. Make no mistake that in a case like this (OP looking for a 150 page book in an easy, yet highly competitive topic to look like a specialized writer in for $500-$1000), the quality of the squeeze page and copywriting will have a bigger effect upon sales than the quality of the ebook itself ...

I don't think anyone has asked the OP what he is expecting or his experience in IM. So, Frank, what is your experience in IM and, if you found someone to do all you want for a price you can afford, what are your expectations?

Without accounting for specific topic, plot outline, revisions, and assuming 500 words per page, I can do this for $225 (150 pages)

And, YES, I am a REAL writer. I am a native English speaker with a degree from UC Berkeley (graduated with honors) and I've written THOUSANDS of articles, blog posts, travel guides, you name it. With that said, I don't TAKE EVERY OFFER. I have to be CONVINCED I can add value to your project before I commit. I take PRIDE in my work. My main compensation is the fact that I get paid to do what I LOVE. I LOVE to write. I love to research. I love to GROW intellectually/spiritually. If my price seems a bit low, it's because most of the compensation I get can't be bought with money.

You get what you pay for. If you are budgeting $600, for that work, you should expect poor quality work.

For example, for us at charmcontent.com, only the eBook including detailed research, graphics, accompanying images and screenshots where necessary would cost you $1400-1600, that is excluding the sales page.

Now for the sales page, you can find some good but cheap copywriters here on the forum, but you would also budget around $500., Then the graphics and video, budget around $100.

So I can see you budget in $2100.

On the ebook, you are talking about 24k to 30k words. And while you can find writers who will work for under 3 cents per word, I would not recommend hiring anyone who charges that little.

In my experience, I have found the best writers at between 3 cents and 20 cents per word.

You would need to hire a different person to write your sales copy. Ebook writers teach, and copy writers sell.

Good copy writers also tend to be far more expensive than ebook writers. I see a few good copy writers who have dropped their two cents into this thread.

why not go to your local fitness center and talk to some of the trainers etc and work out a percentage deal with a max cap, and write the book that way. Bundle that up all nice Kindle style to start. <-- having this product gives the writer some thing to say they did ( Mom and Dad will buy it )

After that, get the sales pages built and run with it.

I personally have never done this myself, but have brokered deals, and built the sales page end of this before. Actually works out nicely
