Hello All!

I see being tenaciously persistent and intelligent as being 2 key traits. Know your reason WHY to persist and do your research to gain blogging intelligence.

What do you think?

What qualities do successful bloggers adopt?

I don't know what blogging intelligence means, but I'd say you should aim to post stuff that your readers find interesting, entertaining and informative. And do it consistently.

        Hi Ron,

To be absolutely in love with what you do and make enough money to live your dreams.

Example: I love blogging. I publish 6 posts daily. Doing this has enabled me to live my dreams - as I have traveled the world for the past 34 months - ....writing these words from Chennai India but looking SO forward to going home in a day

        How do you define success?

        Thanks for asking BTW!!

Agreed consistency is important, but above all else you must provide high quality informative content. Add to that traffic generation skills are required in order to get people to that content.

      Hi Frank,

BI is learning stuff that helps you blog. Like, before I started blogging I was a fired security officer. Had no clue in hell what blogging was, I only knew how to check email and espn.com 5 years ago

After reading, studying, and educating myself....and releasing some ignorance....I acquired blogging intelligence. Like, I learned how to write titles, posts, calls to action, I learned how to use plug ins....etc.

You should add personality into your posts. For example, im not the best writer in the world, so i try and make up for it by being super colloquial and making everything super simple for the reader.

    I'd say passion trumps all.

I'll continue blogging until the day I die.

    I don't care who reads.

    Or if anybody reads.

    :]

(Well, obviously I want people to read, but even if they don't bet your boots I'll still be writing).

    And another thing...

After you start blogging for a while?

    It's kind of addicting.

From what I have seen in most top bloggers (and I do mean true bloggers), the biggest quality they have is that they have a unique voice that helps them stand out.

Think about it, there are thousands of bloggers out there talking about the same old stuff. But a few manage to get our attention. Why? Its because they stand out, because they are unique, they have their own spin, they bring a new perspective to the same old topic.

I agree. Your personal style is what will attract the public, and also your knowledge.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. Personal style may not attract anyone. Then again, great style won't attract anyone if what you write is of no interest to anyone.

A common trait of most successful bloggers is that they become an authority on a popular subject matter which is targeted at a specific demographic.

I see people replying here that you need to do this or that. Yes it's a part of the process, but it all comes down to what sort of foundations you lay down to begin with...audience, demographic etc.

Not only do you need the above, but your blog must be of a high quality that it will attract the movers and shakers of your market. These are also known as influencers... they can influence opinions and what others think of your blog. Once you crack this nut, you will make it.

Your chances of success will increase exponentially when other, greater authorities are talking about you.

Like I said, it's not that simple.

I like these responses. I agree that you must never give up. Successful bloggers always update their blogs too.

AND they find a sense of excitement that translates over to their readers. :-) And to be a success does not always mean a monetary success - - you can be a success just by inspiring your readers too. My two cents!

People follow personality. You could have a blog on the same exact subject as someone else, yet the other person may get more followers because they know how to draw people in. Quality content is important, but if you want to develop a fiercely loyal following (as most bloggers do) then you've gotta have a magnetic personality that shines through in your writing. The best bloggers can make watching paint dry sound like an awesomely interesting subject. People read what they have to say simply because these bloggers know how to tell a story.

      what he/she said.

Know who your audience is, what they want, and give it to them in an interesting way that will engage them and make you an authority in their minds.

I also recall someone saying that when you blog, be controversial... those that agree will love you and those who disagree will hate you and still talk about you. Either way, you're getting publicity.

Final tip: Use your blog to build your list and ALWAYS email your list and notify them when you post... that way you keep them engaged and they give you feedback.

      effort = reward

There is that unfortunate part of life out of our control, as well as something that you won't see mentioned here.

And that is a little bit of luck, especially in the blogging arena. There are probably a few hundred million blogs in existence. Now, of those few hundred million blogs, what percent do you think are making $25,000/year or more? 2%? 1%? 0.5%? 0.05%? ?...?

To be a successful blogger, you need to fulfill some basic criterion.

      1. The blog on which you are writing. You need to be passionate to write blog. Select your subject and try to make it interesting one.

      2. Yes! The subject should be interesting. Readers would like to read it again and again.

      3. The style and the story should be unique one, so that, it attracts readers.

      4. Do blogging in a regular way, so that, your existence as a writer would be always there. Readers can easily notice you.

      5. Last but not least, try to publish content more than one website and gain popularity.

Commitment is the key here. Not just passion.

Also draw a plan of attack. You must have a plan you follow each and every month. e:g over the next 30 days how many post are you going to write on your blog? How many guest posts? How many forum posts or blog comments do you want to make that will drive thousands of visitors to your website?

Also build relationship with other bloggers and read what they write.

The fastest ans safest way to get to a destination is to find out those who have been there before you.

Success is predictable...so is blogging success.

You do not have passion your best bet will be to outsource your written work!
