May I know the Gravity figure on Clickbank for a product that is shown, is it a monthly figure or weekly figure? Thanks for any advice.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

    It's a monthly figure.

However this figure is very often contrived by the vendor and doesn't necessarily mean people are selling lots of the product. Gravity simply reflects the number of affiliates who have sold at least one copy during the preceding eight weeks, not the number of sales made.

Actually it's a bit more complicated than that.

It is a measure of the number of different affiliates who have made a sales in the last 12 weeks, and how recent their most recent referred sale was.

The maximum any individual affiliate can contribute to a vendor's gravity is 1.0. That happens if the affiliate has just made a sale (or multiple sales) yesterday.

If an affiliate made their most recent sale longer ago they contribute less. After one more day more they contribute 0.96. After another day 0.92. Another day 0.88. Another day, 0.85. And so on (the actual formula is slightly complicated).

      Hi Allan,

Really? So the vendor can change the gravity?!

Anyway, grav is still the most important data you can find in cb, you can use some other tools like cbengine or cbanalytis

  • Quite frankly... while I understand the technical explanation of Gravity, I still dont understand what intelligence it is exactly meant to give. I mean, what exact insight did Clickbank want to share when they created the Gravity ratio? It seems most useless and ambiguous to me.
