    Do marketers still use Christmas firesales / giveaways ?

    A couple of years ago, I was "bombarded" by loads of Christmas and New Year firesales / giveaways , but nothing (so far) this year. You know the type of thing: vendors submit a few of their products, then everyone would promote the offers to their list. People could then access any product by subscribing to each vendor's mailing list. (I think that's the "Giveaway" concept) My understanding of the terminology is the firesale is where a low price is offered for the same set of software, but this time, each vendor acts as an affiliate for the entire set of products.
