It depends on what you have to say. If you are emailing a sales pitch everyday, people are going to get tired of that very quickly. Probably every 3 days too.

Mailing every other day can work if you send something besides pitches, like tips or additional information from other people that you are sharing or curating.

As long as you have something to say, and your emails are interesting, engaging and worth reading... you should be emailing every day. 3 days a week is the safe way to do things, and what almost all email marketers stick to. That, in itself should give you a good enough reason to dismiss it as good advice.

If you can't engage every day, you have 2 choices. 1) Follow the lemmings, or 2) know your market better.

2 or 3 days are both good options as long as you are not planning to bombard them with solo ads and product offers all the time.

You should maybe consider giving the people on your email list content that you don't give out anywhere else.

If you send emails very fast like 4 to 5 days a week, you can end up with people unsubscribing from your list, sending emails twice a week is the best option. Try focus on quality not on quantity, it will make your list responsive.

      There is no standard answer.

If you have something worth while to say, great! You can send daily. My buddy gets a daily prayer that he reads every day...and when it's late, he freaks out!

I think it's more about setting expectations early on, and then delivering upon those expectations. If you say you're going to email every day, email every day.

If you say you're going to email twice a week, email twice a week.

No it's not the best option. Where did you hear that from... Solo ad sellers? Worst people to listen to when it comes to email marketing.

How is your list more responsive when you decide to just pop in 2 times a week? And since you can't sell in every email, that means you only get to promote a product 4 times a month. That's absolutely ridiculous carry on - and a sure fire way to go broke. Build a big enough list and you'll make money, but that contradicts what you just said about "quality" over "quantity"

Listen mate. You are not qualified to give advice to people about building responsive email lists if you're a solo ad seller. It's a contradiction to say you want to build a responsive email list - and then go pimping that list out to others for money. Laughable. Sorry, they both go together like fried eggs and Oxtail soup.

I TOTALLY agree you should provide quality over quantity....

If I get more than 3 emails in a week I instantly unsubscribe, I do agree that the amount of emails wouldn't determine the responsiveness of a list, that may be "bad advice", but I agree with the quality over quantity statement totally...

As mentioned earlier in the post there is no right or wrong answer to this question. However, what works best for me is 1 to 2 emails per week, any more than that and I notice a higher unsubscribe rate...

Twice a week is a good way to start emailing to your list, and obviously not pitch selling all the time, write about your daily achievements give them some feed back on any software or websites you have discovered and how it helped your business, also send them some freebies occasionally, do not get them used to the freebies also try and sell them some good software you have used and think can benefit them!

The higher the quality of your content, the more likely the answer is to be yes. What are you sending them?

    Here's the bottom line.

How frequently can you develop good content?

Imagine if you had a crush on a HOT CHICK.

Would you cared if she emailed you every 5 seconds?

    No.

    Why?

Because she's hot and you LOVE to hear from her.

    Food for thought.

If you can be genuinely helpful and offer your subscribers valuable insight and advice, along with freebies or discounts - you could get away with emailing everyday or every other day. Tiffany Lambert emails everyday, but she has built a REAL relationship with her subscribers and has something good and interesting to say everyday. She is also VERY helpful and open, something many marketers lack. If she had sent me a sales pitch everyday, I would have ditched her list a long time ago.

I personally stick to every 2-3 days, but there are people who mail 8 times a day and are millionaires... hmmm...

There is no right or wrong answers. In some market, you can email every day or even every couple of hours (think groupon).

In my market, I send every 2-3 days. I set it this way because it's my comfort zone. Once I set it and let my subscribers know, I stick to it.

So you have to ask yourself, what is your comfort zone?

Are you able to stick to it?

Another consideration is the quality of content.

Can you engage them? Are they interested?

You won't know until you send some emails and make adjustments along the way.

So, to be safe, try 2-3 days and if you want, increase the frequency overtime.

How often you send out emails really depends on your situation. For example, if someone is doing a Christmas giveaway every day until X-mas then they should be sending out an email every day during the giveaway event period. Whereas, if you are sending out product offers then it wouldn't be a good idea to pest your list every so often.

I think is good every 2 or 3 days. If you do it every day people get tired.

Do it every two days, then move on to higher numbers as your content gets better and your list gets bigger.

It really depends if the emails are strictly informative vs a sales pitch. If the latter, I wouldn't bombard my list with too many back to back emails.

split test and see which works best. Personally, I would go with 2 days for the first several, then go to 3 so as not to come off as spammy.

A safe answer to your question is another question: "What did
you promise them when they signed up?" Did you say "sign
up here to get daily tips?", then you send daily tips. Did you
say, "sign up here to receive my weekly newsletter?", then
    send them a weekly newsletter.

If you didn't make a 'time' promise then the rule of thumb is
to email more frequently at first then taper off to a regular
    pattern of your choosing.

Doesn't matter how often you send. There are very, very, very few people who send out interesting emails more than 5 times total. By around the 5th email most emailers run out of new ideas. If you're an original thinker, you'll come up with an original answer to the question of frequency.

I do every 3 days. Works straight. Focus on email subject lines, and your email body copy. Also, make sure that copy on the sales page is highly converting.

If you have something really awesome and interesting to say, and your subscribers expect you to email them with this frequency, go for it. If you're just sending emails to send emails, and you're consistently going over familiar territory with your emails, I would recommend cutting it back to once or twice a week, if possible. You may not get a lot of spam complaints if you tell people in each email where they signed up (your website, etc.) and how often you're going to email them, but if you start to annoy your readers with too many emails and not enough good content, they will unsubscribe.

I would also keep track of who opens your emails, and how frequently they are opened. You might end up with a lot of people who don't unsubscribe, but never open your emails either.

I think that if you try to add value and provide useful information, a daily email would probably be welcome and not considered a nuisance. Just be sure to include a ps with info on your primary business etc and you should get leads that way

    Regards,
You have to test them out. What might work for one marketer may not work for you. Don't be afraid to lose some subscribers while testing. You can keep building your list and testing your funnels with solo ads
