Is there a credible reliable alternative for Odesk for hiring Philippine outsorcers, as Odesk now sets hour prices for freelancers?
Anybody having good experiences elsewhere? Good Advice?

  • elance
    bestjobs.ph
    fiverr

all the three above are good for outsourcing for quality work.

    • I outsource a lot and my best experiences with outsourcing have been:

      Elance
      Fiverr
and right here at the Warrior Forum.
  • If you are looking for RESULTS instead of merely paying for people to 'try' to do things within a given block of time, try Fiverr. Alternatively, try the warrior for hire section here at WF. Granted, there are certain situations where it makes sense to pay for effort instead of results. For the most part, however, outsourcing on odesk and other time-based platforms doesn't produce a high enough RETURN ON INVESTMENT to be worth the bother.
  • bestjobs.ph and easyoutsource are good places for hourly workers. I'd say here at Warrior is good for guaranteed services when you need SEO/content writing.
  • YOu could check out the warriors for hire section or Onlinejobs.ph
  • eLance is good if you're not worried about going through a lot of trial and error.

virtualstafffinder.com is the best if you want to be sure you'll get someone good. They screen everyone so they only recommend good VAs.

  • I am constantly amazed at the quality of work I get done on fiverr. This site has really developed over the years. I highly recommend it. I use it for almost everything. I've also tried elance and easyoutsource and have had SOME luck, but also some really bad experiences. On elance, I've paid over $200 for some services that people have done faster and better for $5-$20 on fiverr. Try it out

    • I find I muddle through a lot of stuff that I'm not sure will really help me. Then I tried buying a few things and it didn't really do much for me. I'd be interested on some specifics.

    • The best writer I ever found was on Guru.com. It was a few years ago, and wondering if that is still the case that they have good writers there.
  • Elance, Fiverr or go to warrior forum for hire.
  • I would recommend Content Master | World's largest list of content writers! you can find writers who specialise in practically anything you would want.
  • The 3 I have used with the best results in order of how I would rate them:
    1) Warriors For Hire
    2) Fiverr
    3) Elance

GL finding the right fit for your project.

    • Agreed. I use SEOClerks exclusively now.
  • some fiverr spin offs...

    fourerr (very original name)
    seoclerks
    fivess
    i-will-do
  • Fiverr
    Warrior Forum (warriors for hire)
    Elance
    Guru
  • Of those mentioned here, I prefer Elance over all. There's a seriously large pool of talent on that website and yes you'll need to go through an interview process (via Skype, usually) but it's worth it in the end.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • It depends on what you want to get done?

Do you want one of projects, or consistent work on projects that are coming through?

I use Fiverr for all my one off stuff, and Warriorforum of course!

For consistent jobs that I need done (full time employees) I use onlinejobs.ph.

You can hire a full time graphic designed for $300 a month or so, depending on skills or expertise.

  • Can you elaborate on Odesk setting pricing for freelancers?
Some of my applicants mentioned some kind of a beta program but not much details.
    • [1] reply
    • What they're doing is really crappy: they're performing "beta tests" wherein some--but not all--freelancers are prohibited from bidding below $3.00/hour, and in some cases, $4.00/hour.

What's crappy about it is that this "minimum wage" is not universal; while some contractors are forced to abide by those minimums, other contractors are free to bid whatever they want. Being as most clients will award their projects to the lowest bidder, this gives an unfair advantage to the contractors not being forced to abide by the "minimum wage."

My feeling is that if they are going to run these "tests," or officially establish a "minimum wage," it should be universal. Everyone should be made to play by the same rules. That is what is equitable.
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • I'd recommend fiverr for cheap stuff, but be careful in what you pick. A lot of it has absolutely no benefit at all.

    • Don't forget about Microlancer. The same company behind FreelanceSwitch (Envato) is now putting their efforts behind this new job board/elance-esque job site.

Haven't tried it myself but I have been pleased with my experiencing in working with Photodune or Themeforest (also Envato sites).

    EASYOUTSOURCE.COM
  • Just a heads up! Elance and Odesk are merging. Just came across my email about an hour or so ago. If you are looking at them as an alternative, you might want to reconsider.

However, there are a number of alternatives, such as PostJoint (premium) to even Craigslist for finding qualified buyers for your services. The number of job boards for marketing services is growing. Do a Google search and see which one fits your needs.

    • Hopefully it's elance taking over oDesk.

Biggest problem I found with oDesk is that there was a massive pool of freelancers who were just looking to make extra income and not serious business people.
      • [1] reply
  • Sal - conversely, many of the clients on oDesk and Elance aren't serious businesspeople. I'm hoping the merger will ultimately attract larger and more stable client companies looking to build long-term relationships with freelancers, instead of people posting one-off, nickel-and-dime gigs.

    • I was just finding that credentials were massively over stated and spent all my time teaching them.

      Most annoying.
  • You can get same services at Fiverr, beside this I recommend the following platforms :
    1) Elance
    2) Freelancer.com
If you can tell me for which service you need the freelancer, I can suggest you more specifically.
    • [1] reply
  • Elance and fiverr are better
  • I have used Elance.com a lot and am overall happy with it. Today I heard that Elance and ODesk are merging together.
  • I like odesk. Found some good writers there.

What i do is ask the writers to fixed nos. of words per hour so i can control the my budget easily
  • Try Fiverr. It's a great place to outsource work from. But then, you really can't tell..because the place is open to everyone - including people who found a great opportunity to earn money, even if they lack skills and talent. I suggest that you look at customer testimonials and work with people who have excellent customer ratings. Then, start with a small order only, so you can test the service first before working with the person with a long term project. Good luck!
  • Odesk is good. Look for those with english level 4.5 and above.

And state nos. of words per hour and most freelancers are ok with that
  • If you have ongoing work you might want to hire someone in the Philippines, my understanding they can be hired starting as low as $270 per month at Hire the best Filipino employees and virtual assistants the Philippines has to offer! and they also have a program to walk you through choosing someone and how to handle the work assignments and payments to them.
  • I found epicwriter.com is also good.
But, it depends on what you want to outsourcing, if you want an article, I recommended epicwriter.com. It's really good result, the article is SEO friendly, we can determine the keywoard density (1%, 1.5%, etc), pass copyscape premium, editing if the article doesn't meet our criteria.
  • Odesk and Elance will merge become one.
  • The latest news is, oDesk and Elance are getting together. Just got 2 emails a few hours back. One from oDesk and another from Elance. Both saying the same thing that they are joining together.
  • Elance can be a good Alternative for you.
  • elance, fiverr, seomarts best Alternative for you.
  • If you are looking for outbound sales reps (telemarketers etc.) check out Outbounders.com
  • If you need a VA try fiverr.com
If you need a content writer try contentmaster.net
  • try myraket.com
  • Really really helpful. Will check out content services here at Warrior Forums. Also it's worth trying text broker.
  • Freelancer.com i think is the most overcrowded outsourcing site, you'll get tired of receiving bids. don't ignore freelancer, they've millions of freelancers.
  • The only other places I would recommend are Freelancer.com and Elance.
  • I suggest checking out John Jonas' Hire the best Filipino employees and virtual assistants the Philippines has to offer!. Very reputable and he stands behind his recommendations. Let me know how it goes.
    • [1] reply
    • I've used onlinejobs.ph and found good virtual assistants for very good prices, under $250 a month (full time, 40 hours a week).

It's always worth to check out all the suggestions other warriors have mentioned above, and see which one works for you, such as ease of use, etc. Good luck!
  • Fiverr, the Warriors for hire section, Freelancer and eLance are all great.

In the question of alternative odesk I suggest to go

      01. elance.com

      02 freelancer.com

      03. Fiverr

      .
  • Often times most of the guys here would suggest Elance, Freelancer and Fiverr.
However, as for other great alternatives that directly hire Filipino outsourcers, you can try the following:
Staff.com - they are focused in hiring Filipino staff (Full time/part time)
    Onlinejobs.ph
    and
    Easyoutsource.com
  • I'm a complete newbie myself. I researched a bunch into the various platforms. From what I can tell, Odesk seems like an utter joke. I saw various people asking for multiple articles that stacked up into the thousand words range, and the payment was about £2.50 for the lot. To put that in perspective: that pays for one tube journey. Don't make me laugh.

SEOClerks.com seems like a much better platform, I put up some gigs there and making sales.
  • I have not read through the above posts, so sorry if someone has already mentioned this. I have had a lot of success outsourcing through Easyoutsource. The only job I would not outsource through that site is writing, that said I am sure there are a few good writers lurking on there.
  • I use Freelancers Outpost.
The results have been great. Completed more then 10 projects and $15k in transactions.
    Only positive experiences every time.
  • I have used Fiverr and it's very cheap and very good
  • Hello, TeleWorkNow would like to help you with your outsourcing needs.
We only hire competent telemarketers, appointment setters, among others from
the Philippines. If you would like to learn more about our company, please email us at
    katsphere@gmail.com.

    Warm Regards,
    Kathleen
  • I have never been disappointed from the Warriors for Hire section. Just make sure you never pay upfront, as there are people who might want to scam you.

    Good luck!
  • I suggest you to try SEOClerks.com, they contain all those element which good freelance platform should have and also hundreds of other unique features which I never seen on any other marketplace.

    • Freelancer or Warriors For Hire. Although be careful on Freelancer, generally people who bid very low there are not that good.

Follow the old rule, you get what you pay for.
  • i like elance and for graphic stuff fiverr

I have been done for dough a few times, on both, but its a learning curb, once you know the ropes and make a few mistake, you will just sort of GET IT, to put in simply.

    These two are the best.
  • i like Zeerk.
On Zeerk people have done faster and better.
  • Odesk name has been changed to Upwork. I am sure there are two hiring system in the Upwork. There is no doubt. One can hire a freelancer at the hourly rate system or, fixed rate system. So it is really easy for everyone. Beside the Upwork, you can use the Elance. It also the same system. Even you can use the Freelancer or, vworker also. It is not important that you must use the Philippine freelancer, you can use any expert freelancer. Beside the Philippine there are many expert freelancer around the world. Best of luck. Thanks
  • Try Guru.com. They have many good offers which are negotiable. They do indicate hourly
price, but due to high competition, most of them are will to make a deal on a fixed price.

    I used them a lot.
  • Elance and Fiverr are my best bets. But elance has now merged with odesk so I am now using upwork (odesk+elance) and it works well.

  • Here are others:

    Elance
    Clickfire
    Guru
    GetAfreelancer
    Scriptlance
    GoFreelance
    iFreelance
    Freelancer
    Fiverr
    Warrior Forum
    GetAcoder

    Hope this helps.
    George
  • I am currently using freelancer.com. Doing some small jobs to boost my reviews, since it's going to be impossible that someone hires you if you don't have any reviews.

Just message your preferred freelancer but first talk to them and see if they are a good fit for you before awarding the project.
  • Fiverr is better at getting things done quickly and at a price that anyone can afford. Love using it.
