Yes, the short answer in pretty much every scenario for this is Yes. There are buyers world wide, but the United States is where the bulk of your buyers will come from except maybe in certain region specific micro niches.

In pretty much any niche the majority of people willing to spend money on products will be from English speaking western countries which are as mentioned before USA, UK and Canada.

You may have some luck with foreign buyers but overall its not worth going out of your way to convince them to spend money.

You have to remember that there is less money in these kinds of places so they are unlikely to spend two weeks wages on a product.

I'm in the UK and I buy products - a lot of my friends are in Australia and they buy products (Virtual / informational - not physical)

We don't go searching for US products, they're just there in our search results with everything else - Google really is global.

What I'm saying is, don't worry about it too much, if you focus on the US you'll still be found by anyone around the world who's interested.

I am located in New Zealand and I agree with the above.

I would target more than just the US and Canada. Although there are certain countries where professional refunders live... not everyone is like that. The overall money made from other countries will surpass the money you "lose" from people who like to buy and ask for their money back.

You're looking for Tier1 countries - US, Canada, UK, Australia & New Zealand. Chances are slim anyone outside of the Tier1 countries buying anything from you.

In my opinion USA is the best, but damn the way the economy is, how long will that remain true?

In all seriousness, I've had small ticket buyers from all over the planet. The real question is, who's going to buy those massive ticket offers? Probably the "big 5"; UK, AUS, CAN, USA, NZ.

But in general? I've observed the following countries to amass buyers:

    USA
    Australia
    United Kingdom
    Canada
    South Africa
    Irelend
    Germany
    Switzerland
    New Zealand
    Malaysia
    Thailand

America rocks as far buyers is concerned. Focus more on America and you will probably make more money.

If I am based in the UK but have a dot.com site will (assuming it is good enough) it rank on Google.com, have read a bit of conflicting information concerning if based in the UK effectively being penalised for using .com as opposed to .co.uk and vice versa...

Or should the main concern just be getting a good site out there and then it will get ranked on all english speaking googles if content is relevant? I hope I make some sense.

I'd focus on the two mentioned nations, but
I would not completely disregard other
    countries. Wherever possible implement
a translator tool for those prospects.

For example, embed it on landing and/or
    lead capture pages.

This really depends on what you're selling/promoting. If the audience includes members of areas around the world then you should accommodate everyone. Segregate the lists if you must (I recommend this) but don't ignore a demographic simply because it's smaller.

All you have to do is look at the relative earning potential in the different countries.

The average wage in the US is much higher than that of the Philipines or India etc.

So who do you think can afford to buy your $47 product?

The guys that earn $20 an hour?

Or the guys that get $2 an hour?
