So how do you build your List Fast

I am trying to build my list like everybody else. Is there a way to build a list
faster to a more targeted group without spending a small fortune to do it.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks
Brent

      - Create EPIC content and approach people who are in your niche to give it away to their list.

      - Create a youtube channel and publish 1-2 videos share your best stuff and offer more stuff at your opt in page.

        Hi

There are a lot of ways to build a list and trust me or not there is always a price to pay. It's up to whether to wish to pay in $ or Hours...later being more expensive in the long run.

Instead of giving any definite answer here I would recommend you do a search on list building right here and am sure you will be pleasantly surprised by the amount of quality information you'll find in the forum.

        Wish you success

    I agree with al.

You cannot hope to have a top quality list that was built fast.

The only way to gain subscribers faster is to attract massive numbers of people with great content that they can't get anywhere else.

Build a funnel that is profitable, and buy traffic.

If it's profitable? You've struck gold; continue buying traffic & building your list.

If it's not profitable? Change it until it is.

And even if it's not immediately profitable? You still build your list & get bigger every time, all the while collecting data.

Track traffic sources every step of the way.

    ^million dollar lesson.

      This^^

Buying traffic is one of (if not the) quickest listbuilding strategies.

... but the challenge is to make it profitiable, and for that you need a good funnel.

Solo ads and ad swapping are a fast way to build your list but not necessarily the best way - it depends on your business model.

Try launching a great product and getting lots of JV partners on board. That way you'll build a high quality buyers list quickly. Of course there's a lot of work involved initially, but it's worth it to have a list of people who have already bought from you.

Buying bulk, spammy list of email names is a waste of time - they're usually full of expired, dead or non existent emails - those that are real probably aren't interested..
You've got to get people who want to be on your list for them to be any use to you later.
To get them interested, you need to offer them something they're interested in.
Give people something interesting and useful for free and they'll be keen to join your list.
Just have to get the offer seen by enough people to start with...

Do you mean free traffic sources?

    * you can make videos yourself and publish them to youtube
    * you can participate in forum discussions, provide value and advertise via signatures
    * you can try guest posts, and find niche blogs and ask to write for them and advertise via author bio

For low cost traffic, you can try PPV.

If you want a FAST method, simply head over to 7 search and offer your free product.

You'll get thousands of subscribers in a matter of hours for just 5-7 bucks. But, don't expect to profit from that list by offering paid products!!

If you want "FAST" and Quality try solo ads. They'd cost you more but it's worth it (given the solo ad subscriber list is good) .

If you want to do it slow and steady...there are a bunch of methods - some already mentioned by fellow warriors in this very thread.

    Good Luck.

    1. Solo ads.
    2. Twitter (actually a great source of converting traffic).
    3. PPC (kinda a small fortune).
    4. YT vids.
    5. Free incentive that's actually good.

You can build your list by growing and targeting web entities that are frequented by your target market. Build and grow a niche presence on Facebook (groups and/ or pages), Twitter, Pinterest, Google and Yahoo Groups, and so forth. Target entities like forums, groups, and wherever else you can legitimately derive traffic.

But this is only a partial answer.

The other side here is creating an incentive for people to subscribe in the first place. Is it a great product? The way the net works nowadays, with everyone tweeting and liking and retweeting and (ugh) so on, creating a killer product is 90% of the battle.

The easiest way to do this, is by creating great, highly converting sales funnel, and then send as much traffic as you can..the money you will pay for solo ads will return from the sales you make..giving you almost free subscribers+ buyers list..

If you want to build really high targetted responsive list, you should go for social media ads, solo ads in you niche, adwords, and if you don't want to spend big money you can do blog commenting, forum marketing, traffic exchange.

    Joint Ventures!

Eben Pagan, Frank Kern, Ryan Deiss, all these guys build their business from joint-ventures.

    You could start here--->

    King of Traffic
    King of Traffic

Okay, smartass answer out of my system...

It's like the sign in the repair shop:

    > Good
    > Fast
    > Cheap

    Pick two out of three.

Okay, now it's out of my system...

The thing to remember is, unless you are selling solo ads without a conscience, you don't just want a list. You want a responsive list, one that looks forward to your emails rather than ignoring them until they're annoyed enough to unsubscribe or hit the spam button.

That can happen relatively quickly (the 'building the list' part), but you have to be smart about it. Yes, giving stuff away has become the accepted means of getting people to cough up an email, but there's a whole cult of people who will never pay for anything but will accept anything for free. Those people just bloat your list and run up your service bills.

You may not even want A list. You may want several lists.

Let's take the book in my sig for example, since that sig is the only promotion I'm doing for it (I wanted to see what would happen as a baseline for when/if I do decide to actively promote it).

I could try to build a list of anyone interested in email marketing in any way shape or form. Give away a generic lite version or prequel, maybe a couple of specific tips that could apply to any situation. And end up with a lot of "why should I buy the book when I can get all the info I need for free on the Internet" types.

Or, closer to what I would actually do, especially if I ever decided to build a proper funnel around it, I could build a series of lists. Each would target a more specific part of the overall "email marketing" niche. One for info producers, one for brick and mortar retailers, one for consultants, etc. Each with a targeted freebie that would both entice the right people and filter out the wrong ones.

That's how you build lists of responsive buyers. Show them that you can relate to their specific needs, wants and desires. Provide value. Be visible where they hang out - be it on social media, YouTube, in ezines, on blogs, etc. Paid advertising can put your message in front of large numbers of targeted prospects. Entice them to your landing page (I hate the term "driving traffic" - these are people, not sheep or cattle). If you're a War Room member, Warrior Retced has an excellent thread on the death of the squeeze page that outlines an alternative that is tailor made for this approach - demonstrating real value and offering more of the same in exchange for a simple email address.

      Hi kingoftraffic,

To build a high quality list, the best bet is to build it as fast as possible without sacrificing the quality of it.

Here are some the best tips on building an email list:

      1. Host a contest that requires them to join by email

Hosting a contest can make anything grow on your blog! Why not use a contest to make your email list.

Select a wonderful prize that they would love to receive and don't ever hesitate to make the prize, money. Money will make many want to join your contest and will gladly give you their email address that you can add to your email list.

Create a form by OptinSkin, and add the form to the contest post by using the short code. After doing so, advertise about your contest and see your email list grow so much!

      2. Create a "Landing" page!

Landing pages have always worked for many to gather emails for their email list. If you visit many blogs around especially the larger ones, they will have a beautiful landing page that describes their services.

But mostly, they are giving you a legit reason for you to sign up with your email, reason being to receive updates right in your inbox.

      3. Give them an incentive to sign up!

People are accustomed to receive something in return when they give some of their own property. Their email is property to them.

Just like they use money to buy something, they expect something in return such as the item they bought. Give them something as reason to sign up. It is in our genes to receive something and will end up giving up something for it.

      Use this as your edge.

If you have written an e-book, give them that in return for their email.

      4. Create sick, awesome Articles and Content!

Your blog should look professional and contain content that your readers and visitors will be attracted to.

Regular content today won't cut it. Regular content won't take you far and will not help you stand out!

Creating articles with your heart will help you gain your new subscriber's heart. That is the point of the creation of your articles; you will surely make your subscriber's heart happy when you help them with their problem.

Plus, your content should have strategy as well to it. Strategy to target long tail key words and other bloggers' attention.

Many new visitors are going to decide to give you their email based on the articles you write and the content you produce on your blog.

So make sure to produce insane, awesome articles and content!

I hope this set of tips will help you get started on building your best email list. Let me know on what else you need some advice about.

Offering money, or something with mass appeal (like the common "win an iPad" come-ons) is a good way to build a list of people who only want to win the money or other prize.

Yes, you can build a long list of email addresses, as your service will remind you every month when they tap your credit card. But most of that list will be dead weight, with zero interest in what you have to offer.

Offering an incentive is a good idea, but the trick is to make it something that only people in your target market would be interested in winning. If it's your own product, you could offer a free copy as the drawing prize, maybe once a month or so. If it's a membership site, give away a free membership every month, or even just a free month in a random drawing of all list members. The random drawing may keep people opening your emails and at least scanning them, to see if they won.

You're looking for a magic bullet that doesn't exist.

If you build fast and cheap you'll end up sacrificing quality....

if you want to build a high quality responsive list then slow and steady is the only way.

Once you build a responsive list of several thousand and your subscribers look forward to opening and reading your messages because they've grown accustomed to knowing you provide real value to them and not just one sales pitch after another, then doing ad swaps with other list owners is a good free way to grow your list.

Free in the sense that you wont have to pay in cash, but you will still pay in time and effort.

Once you know your conversion numbers then paid traffic will produce your fastest and cheapest results.

If you know that every $1 invested into buying a click returns $1.20 to you how many clicks would you buy?

At that rate you could buy 1,000 clicks everyday and make a $200 daily profit. How long would it take in time and effort to get 1,000 new clicks per day without paying for them?

    Cheers,
    Steve Ski

Irresistible sticky content - tease them with FREE but great value content and then offer more content in steps (e.g. 8 week course etc) so they need to signup to get the next portion of the information. People hate missing out or missing "part" of something, offering them something in parts is a good way to build desire for more information.

Quality and value is the key
