Ebay out to get me!!

So I know that selling likes, followers and such is a big market now and people are making a killing doing this on Ebay. So I go set up a couple items and sure enough, sales coming in.

But as soon as they do, Ebay snatches my items for Trademark violation. Now my question is, how do the other guys keep their items open without getting shut down. I see a couple who have them up for weeks and are getting sales and Ebay apparently isn't batting an eye at them.

What am I doing wrong? What CAN I do to NOT get shut down by Ebay with this?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks stoltingmediagroup for your view. You've made me realize my errors. I have bigger fishes frying but was doing that on the side. Thanks to all other inputs as well.

FYI I didn't know I was violating TOS until they took my items down.

    2. Stop trying to circumvent eBay's T.O.S and definitely don't ask "how to" here!
    3. Stop wondering how others are getting away with selling crap against eBay's T.O.S.
    4. Instead, spend time marketing legit products in a way that does not get you "shut down".

      Maybe a little harsh?

      I agree, it's against eBay policy and wouldn't encourage it myself. However, selling backlinks for Google goes against Google policy for webmasters, yet they're intended for boosting SEO and are frequently sold on WF. I think it's a little unwarranted to negatively judge the OP on his approach to making money online via a reputable sales platform just because the nature of his sales orientate competitive SMO somewhere it isn't allowed.

        Nah, just giving a little bit of tough love.

        In the end, most Entrepreneurs who actually managed to grow a successful business online, will tell you from experience that selling questionable products and services by trying to circumvent a companies T.O.S. will never become a long term venture.

        My advice (if you want to be a serious and well respected marketer) is merely not to waste too much time trying to figure out how others are managing to "not get shut down" and get away with certain things. But instead, fill your brain with useful ethical business tactics that work for the long haul.

      I agree with what has been said by others, but this comment really hit the nail on the head. I've been selling on Ebay for YEARS. Ebay is not messing around. They have so many buyers and sellers to deal with and over the years, they've managed to piss off both over the years. They HAVE gotten better, but if Ebay even THINKS you MIGHT be doing something that is even CLOSE to violating their policies, they will usually shut you down without warning even if you're 100% legit. I would say selling "likes" is questionable at best (in my humble opinion, but definitely in Ebay's opinion).

      If you're going to sell on Ebay, I would recommend selling real, genuine physical products. It is really a great business and though it takes a bit more work, it's far more lucrative and sustainable. Good luck!

    I don't think you're going to find much sympathy here if eBay shuts you down after you knowingly violate their TOS selling this junk.

    The people I have sympathy for are the sellers who have been on eBay since the beginning, build a great business, follow the rules, then get kicked off because of a few DSR dings.

    Put your energy into selling a legitimate product and slowly build a business from there.

    People are also full of BS.

    Look at the sold listing search. The sales of this stuff are too sparse for any one person to be making a killing. Even if one person was responsible for all of the sales on eBay, they still wouldn't be making a killing.

    "youtube views" returns just 10 sales yesterday. Most under $10. The average comes to $11.81.

    "twitter followers" just 7 sales and a similar profit outlook. Even worse for "youtube subscribers."

    This is absolutely true. Ebay has so many buyers and sellers to deal with and has managed over the years to piss off both sides. They ARE getting better, but you've got to be legit to sell there. I would say selling facebook "likes" is questionable at best (in my humble opinion, but definitely in ebay's opinion).

    If you want to sell on ebay, I would recommend selling PHYSICAL products. There are other things that can be sold on ebay, but selling genuine physical products to real people is a much more long-term sustainable business. Best of luck to you!
