Literally 0 page views.

So i have had my site up and running for a couple of days now. I''ve done SEO, i have quite a few quality articles up. i've pinged the site, etc. i post on forums with a signature to my site related to my niche. I still have literally 0 page views, is this a sign my niche is too competitive without PPC advertising? And should i try to sell my domain name for a profit and get a less competitive niche for a beginner?

    Normally it takes a couple of weeks before you are going to see traffic, unless you have a pool of people you can send and email to, so dont' give you, you are doing the right thing; just hang in there.

    What niche are you in by the way?

    Well without seeing your signature, your articles, or the site I would just be speculating but I would assume that it's less about niche competition and more about a lack of interest on part of the viewer.

    One question: why should anyone view your page?

    People don't visit pages because they were search engine optimized.
    People don't visit pages because there was a link visible on a forum post.
    People don't visit pages because someone bought an ad.

    Unless they are interested and it is something they are actively thinking about then they aren't coming. Your job as a marketer is to either make them interested to the point where clicking would hurt them more than help them or know where they are actively thinking about it and jump in front of them with a compelling solution.

        The thing is, no one knows this unless they visit your site and you told us no one has visited your site yet.

        You are in a very competitive niche. You won't get SE traffic, or any kind of traffic for that matter, without a serious marketing effort on your part.

          This is just wrong. Sure, if you're building your business for the Search Engines in hopes for some Table Scraps, it may take a few weeks to get a visitor or two...

          If you have 0 page views, it's because you haven't put your link in front of enough people. Forget SEO and Paid Traffic, you need to put your business in front of PEOPLE.

          Is your website connected to Facebook? Twitter? Google Plus?
          Are you pinning your images to Pinterest? How bout Reddit?

          Before people will visit your website, you have to show them it exists. Once they get to your website, it's up to you to keep them there, and make sure they return for more.

    What type of incentive are you offering people to visit your site? Maybe you could assemble a short ebook or report (available with email sign up) that would give top ten tips for dating/pick up niche. Then feed the info out over a week's time along with reminders to visit your site for new information. Then put that free offer or report in your signature line or ads when promoting on other forums. This might stimulate some traffic.

    If you want specific feedback on how to increase conversions to your website, then you MAY post your URL in the Copywriting forum, not here.

    I've been in the dating advice / PUA niche now for ten years. It's one of the most competitive niches I've ever been in (weight loss still has it beat though).

    You've only had your site up for a couple of days. "I've done SEO", well, SEO takes longer than a couple of days. If you want to make it in that niche you're going to need to have the following:
    • An awesome product mix (you should be promoting at least 10 products and service, 20 is much better).
    • Don't rely only on SEO, learn how to use Social Marketing, don't be afraid to invest in advertising
    • You need to capture emails and build a list
    This advice is valid if you're marketing infoproducts.

      A few days is not enough time to assess the "whats and whys" of your website. Give it some time to breathe, at least a few weeks, so you don't make any inaccurate conclusions. Once you start getting some traffic, you can use Analytics to get a better idea of what is going on, good or bad.
