Virtual Assistants... How Many Of You Use Them?

Hey guys,

I have a few questions for those of you who hire virtual assistants, thanks in advance for your help.

Basically I would like to know...

How and where did you hire them.

How was the selection process?

How many did you go through before finding your virtual assistant?

How do you pay their wage, monthly, hourly, weekly or per job?

Kind regards,

Stephen.

I have 2 VAs and I pay by the job. One was from a group of 10 that I trained for Joel Christopher back in 2006. I decided to use the best of the 10 that trained.

The other I found at Rent A Coder.

I went through many programmers until I found the one that has been with me for over 7 years now. It took a little while to train him to understand Internet Marketing and the need to have things done a special way.

But after working together for so long he comes up with some better ideas than what I have for doing things. We have come up with some new technmology, which I have a federal copyright on.

I really think that my VAs are a big part of my success.

    Best regards,
    Steve Yakim

      Hi Stephen,

      Where to Hire VA

There are job marketplaces that you can go for and among them are Odesk.com, Elance.com and Onlinejobs.ph.

      Selection Process

When Selecting candidates, it is good to consider 3 important points : Attitude, Skills and Knowledge

      1. Go over the candidate's profile/resume, feedback of previous clients (if available) and other references.
      2. Check on cover letter, you can eye a qualified candidate when someone answers directly your requirement and will not simply copy/paste generic cover letter
      3. Conduct interview

How many did you go through before finding your virtual assistant?

It depends if there are more qualified candidates. If there are qualified candidates, you can go between 5 to 10 candidates.

How do you pay their wage, monthly, hourly, weekly or per job?

It depends but normally if you go with job marketplaces like Odesk and Elance, it is a weekly payment. And payment here goes through these job sites (these sites will have fees for every project you close, with Odesk this is 10% fee)

      Hope this helps
