What do you think about Pay-Per-Contact?

I plan to run a simple freelance site for a very specific service but I don't want to go on with bidding system or reverse auction system. I plan to use pay-per-contact instead. If you are not familiar with pay-per-contact yet, this is how it works.

A customer post his offer and the provider must pay a certain amount in order to get the customer's contact details. One good example of the site that uses this system is language-school-teachers.com ($3/contact)

What do you think of this?
Any opinion is highly appreciated. I plan to charge just $1 per contact but will increase to up to $2/contact in the future. My custom script is already done. I'm just finishing some important features to add.

Thanks

I think you're being a bit too generous on your pricing, or at least not taking full advantage of 'package' pricing. Maybe charge $10 for seven contacts and $5 for three? Something that encourages an excessive purchase for a simple and cheap service - people love to buy lots of stuff simply for the fact that it's cheap.

Honestly though, I think you're probably going to be pretty well prepared. I really do see this is a great idea (like top 1%) so I wish you all the best of luck, although I doubt you'll need it.

This would work if you have enough providers listed and you have enough people looking for them.

But usually it is better to let the provider pay.

The consumers often shy away from paying unless there is no way to get the information.

You better charge a person not for a single profile visit, but make different packages.
In this business you have to target two types of people. 1- Job seeker, 2- Employer.
This can be done by lots of advertising or you can pick social media ads to reach the targetted audience, you can also make a page to keep in touch with your audience.

I am not going to charge per profile visit because the provider's profile is always available for everyone but not his/her contact details. I am going to charge per contact when the seeker is interested to hire the provider after viewing his/her profile. And the provider will also need to pay in order to respond the first message of the seeker.

Yes I agree. The provider will be charged first always, but in this line of service, there is no problem charging the customer because they badly need the service.

My plan is to do this while still building my site's reputation but later on when the business and the site is well established, of course I can always tweak the pricing in my favor.
