Any suggestion how to earn designing business cards/logos?

I have skills in designing stationery and business cards, I have tried Odesk and Elance.

Someone suggested to start a website and sell your designs

Since I'm not sure what to look for I thought I'd come here and ask the experts.

Your suggestions and reasons will be much appreciated.

    Have you tried 99designs and other contest/crowdsourcing sites? I'm not suggesting you to mainly use those contest sites to earn money but use it to market your skills and build your network instead.

    Also try to sell on forums like here or DP.

    Yes best way is to make your own site and use professional SEO service to rank it
    If you are low on budget you can start from fiverr to get some quick cash
    Also if you can make logo there is quite possibility you can offer some good things for IMer's like sales page design or stuff like that
    You can open sales thread here on this forum and take your business to next level
    Always remember to optin your customers to gradually build your circle

    It may not be quite what you're looking for but why not try offering your services on Fiverr?

    If you want to go your own way though then I would say yes to your idea of creating your own website to sell from there.

    The only problem with that is that you need a way to get plenty of business. You may have to spend some time forming relationships and getting noticed in your field of work.
