The best time to send an email is when you have something important to say. No sooner, no later.

Unless of course you have an autoresponder series lined up. Then knowing these facts ahead of time comes in handy.

Can't find the time to build links even though you know it's one of the #1 ranking factors?

It might give you a slight edge until everyone else starts doing it -- then it will quickly lose any effectiveness it might have had.

The point I was trying to make is if your list is comprised of subscribers that really enjoy hearing from you (because you only email when you have something really valuable and important to say), then it really doesn't matter what time of the day your emails go out. You could send them out at 2am, and you'll still have great open rates.

Imagine we adopted that attitude with our friends?

"Sorry mate, I'd rather you only contacted me when you have something really important to say"

            See the problem here?

Stop thinking like a marketer - and start thinking like a real human being. Building solid, long lasting relationships has much more to do with having a personality, and less to do with providing valuable content.

            Define value anyway?

Apples to oranges. Although I am friendly to the people on my list, the expectations that the people on my list have and the expectations that my "offline" friends have are two entirely different things, and I don't pretend otherwise. If that's not the case with you, then there's nothing wrong with that... that simply means you have a different business model than I do.

Ummm... you do realize that this is a marketing forum, don't you?

Contrary to popular belief... "thinking like a marketer" and "thinking like a real human being" are not mutually exclusive.

Interesting fact found by Kissmetrics: "Leads who were sent 3 or more text messages after initial contact were 328% more likely to convert."

Like Gary Vaynerchuck says, it's almost 2014 and people are still marketing like it's 2003. These stats on email marketing are great but it is important that you are moving your business into reaching your customer where they really are. SMS, FB messages, DM Tweets, etc. We are doing just that. However, there are some people that still use email, but you MUST understand your customer, where they are, and how they will react to the different message platforms you hit them on.

Really interesting. Definitely worth looking into email timings. For me it's normally evening that I'm checking email, so I'm inclined to agree with the info graphic

With an international list with no upfront GEO data I typically stick to a rotating email schedule. Monday: 9:00AM by the time I get to sunday the email I am sending out is in boxing at Midnight. I see good conversions from the east coast in the IM niche all the way up to 3am in the morning on a regular basis.

    Hi,

Data is very valuable and shouldn't be overlooked!

It's what you do with it that counts.

    All the best guys.
