Hi everyone, I know this is a long post but it will be worth it. I know this is probably in the wrong section, but I'd like for WarriorForum to make an exception and hear my story.

I'm Joshua and I would like your help - I'm a 19 year old student who came across a touching story in which I would like to share with you. The story lead me to creating a video in order to raise awareness for this young girl, and hopefully get the video viral so it reaches every corner of the internet and gives the little girl the best possible chance of donations.

The story:
Sophia-Rose is a 3 year old little girl. She is like most other girls her age, she likes singing, dancing, playing with her friends and her favourite band is One direction. Unfortunately, she can't experience any of the things she would like to do, to the extent she wishes, because she has Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy, which means she cannot stand or walk independently. Her Cerebral Palsy was a result of her premature birth, she was born 7 weeks early and her lungs were under developed. Because of the lacking development they collapsed twice when she was just 36 hours old.

Then she developed Septicemia, which made her very poorly. Luckily the doctors gave her a blood transfusion and because she is a little fighter she pulled through. As she got older Sophia's mum started to notice delays in her development, she couldn't roll over until she was 15 months old, she couldn't sit for any length of time until she was 20 months and she couldn't crawl until she was 20 months.

After months of questions and tests Sophia was finally diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Sophia is doing very well now and uses a Kaye walker to help her walk and is now also using quad sticks. Recently Sophia's mum discovered an operation called an SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy), an operation which could be potentially life changing for young Sophia. The operation should help to reduce the pain she suffers from the tightening muscles and allow Sophia to place her feet flat on the ground, something she cannot do. If Sophia's feet were flatter, she would be able to gain her balance more easily therefore make it easier for her to walk. Sadly it is rare for the NHS to fund such an operation, as it costs a whopping £60,000. Sophia's mum and Sophia need your help to raise money for her to have this life changing operation.

If you would like to help, you don't even have to donate, all you have to do is check out this video for Sophia, and put it on your Facebook wall requesting people to watch it. If you could also try and get this thread popular, it will hopefully draw people to it. I have been up all night and day spamming Facebook, and Twitter - And I need your help, as I can't do it alone.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

Regards,
Joshua

Hi Joshua, nice to see that while many are completely self absorbed at 19 that you are choosing to do something that can help someone else with your time.

I have posted some links to your video.

Since I am a marketer I will advise you as such.
When posting a video or something to Facebook to get the most attention state the issue plainly. I would personally title a Youtube video something like this:
"Help 3 year old Sophie-Rose walk without pain just by watching this video"

I would also try to get the attention from the NHS by creating a video that plainly states that issue and forwarding links to local media.
"Should NHS help 3 year old Sophie-Rose walk without pain?"

Of course not to make the NHS out to be the bad guy you can simply pose the question fairly and say that if the NHS is strapped for cash already perhaps the community should help.

    regards,

    Peter

    Quick first impression comments:

Change the video title. It's neither informative or intruiging.
Remove your tags from the front of the video. Are you promoting your blog or Sophia-Rose?
Have the links to donate visible from start to finish and create links so people can click them directly (annotations).

That being said, the only other recommendation I would make is including the name of the ailments as tags, titles, and description. If you want to get the most compassionate views then expect people to want to do a quick Wiki search on the disease they are battling.
