Start with the articles you've written. Take a tip or idea out of one of them and write an article around that. You can do this with each tip or bullet point in each article. You can add examples, ideas, etc.

Also, look at the articles you've already written and create new articles by changing the style. Take one and redo it in an interview format, then a mistakes people make format, a FAQ format, a top 10 format, etc.

You can also google your keywords and look at the titles of what others have done. Often times that triggers ideas for new articles.

    Good luck,
    Peggy

I collect various sales letters and keep copies of website sales pages (I love the ones from Early To Rise - they are written by the best.)

Then any subhead or crosshead I can use as an idea about which to write an article.

Perhaps you might consider buying a PLR ebook and break it down into several short articles.
Another way would be to visit article sites and view the public articles there for ideas. The main thing is to make it sing with your personality. Your readers have come to expect a certain style from you, and if you simply copied and pasted someone else's words, they would notice the difference.
    Best wishes.

Dirk wagners 'Article Ideas' software - $15 or jon legers 'Answer Analyst'. Great for article ideas and research.

Apart from that, just delve into every corner of your niche and make a list of keywords and sub topics and then write about those in detail... Or run each one of the keywords through either of the above software.

You might try going to one of the article directories and looking for articles in your niche that provide lists of "do's" or "don'ts". Then break those lists apart and write a new article on each one of the items.

For instance an ezine article might say 1. don't drop it 2. don't shake it 3. don't take it apart. You would take that apart and write three articles, the first might go "one of the big problems people have with xxxx is dropping it. whatever you do, don't drop it because..."

Pretend you are a total newbie sitting down at a computer to do something for the first time, something that you are at an expert at. Write down the details of every step you take to succeed. Each step is a paragraph, three short sentences per paragraph. There you have an instant 'how to xxxxx for the first time' article. Write it so your grandfather could understand it and follow along and do it himself.

By the way: some of the most popular articles and often the easiest to write are the "The Top 10..." (or Top 5, or Top whatever) variety.

I'm not sure if my way is kosher but since I'm writing for the express purpose of getting backlinks here's what I do:

Search for and see who is ranked higher than me (or the seo client Im' promoting at the time) see what articles are currently ranked high in Google... write one similar to counter it.

I see it as a war of attrition: if you write an article, any article and the opposition fails to counter it... you win by default.

If I AM the opposition (if I find myself having to beat someone who is cached in Google's search results... then if they have 3 hubs, I have to have 5, if they have 3 ezinearticles, then I have to have 6

again... I'm not saying that is what you should do, it's just my way of looking at it.

I 'rework' the article I see is currently ranked, I use theirs as a template.
    hope that helps

Take your main topic, or articles you've previously written, and ask yourself these questions:

      Who would use it?
What would they use it for?
      When would they use it?
      Where would they use it?
      Why would they use it?
      How would they use it?

Boom - you've just got 7 new article ideas for every article you've currently got written.
