I have tried promoting Clickbank a few years ago, but fail miserably. Since I haven't look for the website for a long time, I just would like to promote it once more. Does anyone here still promoting clickbank products?

Is it a great idea for me to start it over?

  • Promoting ClickBank products is still a great way to make lots of money...

What have you tried in the past that failed? That would help us understand what experience you currently have.

    Here's a quick tip:

Provide honest reviews on CB products through YouTube videos. Actually read/use the product and if you can, show some of its features in the video. Then of course, you'll have your call to action during the video mentioning how they can purchase or learn more about the product by clicking your affiliate link in the description.

    • Be careful and don't be too promotional of affiliate products, many channels have been getting banned.

  • Clickbank is great. I'm very happy with the company and how easy it is to get signed up and start making sales.

I think you should start over and make a goal for yourself. Just focus on making your first sale. Once you know how to make your first sale, then you have to figure out how to increase the frequency of sales. It usually comes down to traffic and conversions.
  • Clickbank is still very relevant.

A lot of the Internet Marketing type products are slowly moving away from Clickbank, but if you ever operate in any other niches like relationships, fitness, pets, sports, etc...Clickbank is still the go-to marketplace for those niches.

    • I agree with the above, if you are operating in a niche such as fitness. Clickbank is surely the way to go.

Rather than that clickbank is not what it use to be in 06 or 07 when even I was more active with the promotion side of their affiliate program.

    • Couldnt agree more -We ourselves are just getting involved in a massive JV launch for Self help and prosperity by one of the major guys. Give me a PM for anybody that wants to sign up for themselves! CB is ALIVE!!
Last time it did over a quarter million- 260K. So yes - find the Good One!! This is it. You can sign up too for your list...

  • Clickbank is still relevant. The key is to focus on one niche and not spread yourself too thin. Sometimes people will try to have 10 or 15 review sites going at one time. When you are first starting you should focus on one. Make it successful and then build another.

You also need to be consistent. I think one of the biggest reasons people fail to make money online, with Clickbank or any other method, is because they aren't consistent with their efforts. So pick a big profitable niche and give it all you've got.

  • Every year, my CB sales actually keeps increasing and I don't see a reason why CB will have a problem this coming 2014. I only see upside and not downside.

    • What type of your traffics? Is it from SEO or PPC?

I have tried to create reviews website before, but never worked. I haven't tried PPC for Clickbank before, so is this a great choice?

PPC I would like to use is Bing Ads.. Adwords is too competitive I guess..

  • We decided to try something new with clickbank, with the broadcast function build into PS4, we are actually using a couple of clickbank campaigns in our profile below the video player UrgentFury - Twitch we have already had some conversions and the traffic cost us $0
  • The problem with clickbank is that all websites using them look the same. Same design, same squeeze page look, same everything...and on top of that, same quality of products, clickbank products suck! Seriously, I have seen hundreds of clickbank products and most of them are just trash, something you can find within 5 minutes for free.
    • [3] replies
    • The problem is, you don't have the first idea what your talking about.

You have seen "hundreds of CB products".....so you bought them all and reviewed them constructively and critically.....did you? After all, to substantiate your claims, pls refer us all to your review pages of these hundreds of CB products.

There are over 100,000 CB products available at the mo.....I take it you speak for them all yeah?

Your a misguided fool making irrational and false claims without a shred of evidence nor proof to back them up.

If Im wrong, then pls feel free to correct me.

If you have evidence to back up your claims, we are all waiting to hear it.

    • Casual customers who search products on google does not care about the looks of the sales page or how many similar products listed in clickbank. Some doesn't even know the existence of clickbank. Someone who is looking on how to cure his toothache and stumbled into a CB product does not really care about clickbank. All he care about is to help himself and if he found the product helpful, he'll buy right away.

Your type of thinking is the exact reason why most CB skeptics failed..
    • What rubbish!!!
  • It is a great idea for you to figure out what kind of business you want. Just because you failed miserably does not have anything to do with clickbank, it has everything to do with you. You need to read, learn, and implement. Ask about how to do certain things.

  • Promote Clickbank offers with YouTube. I think strong method!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Clickbank is still strong in the health niche. I also agree that video marketing is converting for affilitates.

  • Clickbank is great. It's still possible to make alot of money with it. Just make sure your marketing is on point.
  • Until now i believe Clickbank is the best source of online income. In the beginning everybody have to face lots of problems like huge competition but once you understands the internet marketing then money will flow towards you.
  • I'd say 90% of my income comes from Clickbank so I'd certainly say it is still relevant!

  • Great thread. Thank you Adie. That patience thing is vastly underrated. I believe it is why so many people (myself included) go to the next shiny object and abandon potentially good sites or ideas. AffiliateAlan has summed up Internet Marketing perfectly, I think.

    • Relevant to what?

CB success is entirely subjective in accordance with niche, selected products, your methods of marketing, your ability to market and your degree of marketing much like everything else.

  • still making 10k per month with clickbank. Even if I go to the beach.

List building and clickbank have been working since day 0 for us way back.

I doubt it will be going anywhere, unless the sun dies, the moon freezes up or a big tsunami comes and wipes out the states. Now while all this could happen at once, even by tomorrow....I would say that is the lesser odds right now. LOL.

So until all these cataclysms happen, my clickbank business is pretty safe i would say. LOL
  • Clickbank is only getting stronger and stronger. Thats why you see a lot of garbage on the clicksure network. Because anybody and put anything on clicksure. You want to offer good information products to your prospects and clickbank has some of the best products out there. You need to research and find a good product. I had a goal of making $200 per day with clickbank in 2013 and I will gladly admit I blew that right out of the water. My goal for 2014 is to make $1,000 per day with clickbank! I'll do it. I know I will. Rinse and repeat... Rinse and repeat...

    • Clickbank is very much relevant - so much so that people continue to make quiet fortunes even when everyone else thinks they couldn't possibly be doing so well
I don't see Clickbank going anywhere - and there are quite a few products on Clickbank in categories other than MMO that are outstanding.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • Do you stand up sites specifically to target click bank products or do you have existing sites that push click bank products?

Also, if you're a blogger, how do you get people to trust you on these products, are you actually trying them yourselves?
  • Clickbank is relevant if you have a good way to promote it. For instance, you could create the Youtube review videos suggested earlier and then post to your niche Facebook page to capture the social crowd. This would give you access to people who are really interested in what you are selling and could result in easy sales.
  • Clickbank is great but as newbies, we need 'Fcous' and lots of 'Patience' ....
  • I been sending traffic to squeeze pages and emailing them offers... works great YouTube and clickbank can still work but like someone said a lot of videos being banned lately!
  • Let me put the same thing in a different way

Is promoting or selling Information products that solves
peoples problems still relevant in 2014?

    YES. Absolutely Yes

It will be relevant as long as people have problems and
they want quick and easy solutions

    hope it helps
  • Yes, information products from Clickbank are worth promoting.

Actually, it's not Clickbank that should be promoted. But rather, the products that can solve, fix, or change someone's problem. Lesson number one: find big problem and deliver it to the market looking to solve that problem.

Lesson number two: learn how to promote that product. It takes a full blown education to take on multiple products and niches effectively (read - make money).

So drill down into a niche with traffic. Then deliver ways for that traffic to find your information.

I can attest that info products do sell often. It's the right product to the right market. That will always equal success, even from Clickbank products.

Persistence in learning and consistently applying what you have learned; works every time.
  • The simple answer is yes, as long as people continue to have problems, there are going to be people coming up with solutions.
And people will pay good money for these solutions, and if you stick around you'll learn how to perfect the monetization of this..
  • I know this will get some flamage but honestly just from an end-user's perspective, I think there needs to be a little more originality as far as landing pages go. The only big evolution ive seen is going from super-long text landing pages to super-long video landing pages, same annoying outgoing popups. In all honesty to the end-user its just sketchy looking.

Obviously i havent seen all 100,000+ landing pages on CB so this may vary by niche and ymmv.

I know from experience that CB converts and makes money... I just think there's a lot being left on the table design-wise that could increase sales. It would also be nice to be able to sell CB stuff without sending them to a CB landing page... maybe some sort of CB checkout widget that you could put on your own site with your own copy and design. I think this could inspire a lot more variety out there and could even lower refund rates.

I dont know... I doubt much will ever really change with CB, but it's fairly easy money if you can get traffic...so as to the OPs question... yes, as long as people on the internet can be sold on info. products CB will stay relevant IMO.
  • Had this issue as well and it's great that you brought it up on the forum!

    • I did a test a while ago testing out clickbank conversions against my amazon sites. Just two sites that received 100+ visitors daily in the same niche (muscle building). I was curious which converted better and even if there were lower conversions for clickbank, if their higher commission would make up for that.

This test led me away from using amazon so much. I made dozens of sales from direct products recommended on my site and quite a few "add-on" products that the customers chose to also buy. The clickbank site would do a sale maybe every other day, sometimes as infrequent as every few days, but the commission was such that it made up for those dry/inactive days.

My point: clickbank is still hugely relevant. Like other posts have said you have to grind though and get decent traffic levels to you sites to make statistical significance of clickbanks lower conversion rate.

Take note that I didn't make much effort to recommend the product on the clickbank sites. I just put up the information and made the link a sort of "click here to learn more" type of thing. The landing page sold the visitor.

  • Yes, it's still possible to earn with ClickBank in 2014.
  • Clickbank is still relevant. I saw a big increase with sales a week ago.
I believe that CB will still be relevant in the next 3-5 years.
  • I still am earning with Clickbank in 2014 - even on the days I go to the beach and do some girl watching...

Build a list and send helpful messages to people who are willing and able to buy what CB offer you promote to them. If your subscribers like you and trust you, eventually they will purchase the CB product you suggest to them...
  • Yeah, CB is still relevant. But it's all in how you promote the products you recommend.
Also, it's powerful to gather the email addy of your punter before forwarding them to the CB offer. That way you can email them.

To make this work it's best to stick to the one niche so you can email people interested in the same thing.

  • I have made a lot of money over the years with Clickbank products. Penny Stock Egghead is a good product to promote there.
  • I got checks from them from 2000 to 2011 like clockwork. Then they changed to that new system. I think it's that you have to get 5 orders from 5 different buyers before they pay you. I'm not sure if that's still in play or not, but after they implemented that, they closed my account for no reason at all, and said I'd have to start under the new system. Talk about ridiculous. And even under new accounts I haven't gotten anything. I'm thinking some affiliates must still make money, just not me. ha ha. Freaking weasels. But that's what all big corporations do. Once they grow big enough, they get greedy and then try and screw the little guy. Why, who knows, it's pretty rare that it's the opposite where they try and give you more. So everyone flocked to jvzoo.

    • You are saying you got regular checks for 11 years and that they stopped when they change their system?

      Well, that's mighty strange.

I opened my account before 2011 and they didn't close mine.

It's a shame you had a regular source of income. There and then it suddenly disappeared :|

    • If you had been trading with them for 11 years you should have already met and far exceeded the CDR requirement as it only relates to new vendors.

Even if you had just opened a fresh account, the CDR requirement wouldn't be a cause for closure neither.

What they did do, is introduce the rating system which had a knock on effect to some accounts that scored badly.
  • ClickBank is still part of the game. I promote some CB products, and they tend to do well.
  • Clickbank is still very relevant, the problem I see is not the products, it maybe be the affiliate itself as well as the vendor.. I believe we have to use our own judgement on what you promote and not promote anything that you haven't use or you are convinced is going to work because at the end of the day if it doesn't for the customer it will all end up on refunds.

Affiliate marketing works in the sense that you are relevant to your audience.. even though is not your product you need to understand who it is intended too... probably vendors should be more clear when creating an affiliate program and communicating with their affiliates the target market and other relevant information because that will increase the conversions and also create a great relationship with your affiliates...

A lot of the times affiliates are looked as somebody promoting a product but in reality they are an extension of your product, brand and company...

Clickbank offer a great service maybe the vendors have to re-evaluate their offers to affiliates... training maybe?
  • clickbank and listbuilding are doing even better this year than last year. But you do have to know how to list build that is for sure.
