Question About Kindle Publishing...

I see so many courses on "How To Publish For Kindle", "How To Make Money With Kindle" and other "Kindle" publishing courses, but what about other e-readers, such as Nook (Barnes and Noble)?

I don't see too many "How To Publish For Nook" or "How To Make Money With Nook" or "How To Publish For Barnes & Noble".

Is there a reason for this?

Also...

Kindle vs. Clickbank (OK... I'll throw this one in also... "NOOK"). Is one "better" than the other? Are there advantages and disadvantages and when would you prefer one over the other?

Thanks.

Amazon/Kindle is the 800 pound gorilla so that's where most writers/publishers want to be. Most of the ereader formats are interchangeable so if you write for Kindle you're probably good for most of the others.

Yeah it's pretty much a marketing thing, since Kindle is currently "the face" of digital books. Thankfully, many of these reports also teach you the basics about publishing on Nook, as the two are similar.

The same reason Willie Sutton allegedly gave for robbing banks - that's where the money is.

The same reason there's so much out there on using Adwords or so much attention paid to Google re: SEO - right now they have such a huge share of the market there's little reason to embrace the other players. Yet.

In the beginning you should promote your books using Kindle Select, but after being there, you can use different options, without abandoning Amazon, of course.

Amazon created the Select program to force all authors to write books exclusively for Amazon, since you make money not only when you sell your books, but also when a Prime member borrows your book from their library.

You can follow this program in the beginning, but if nobody is borrowing your books, sell them in different places, without depending only on Amazon.

Here is a thread with information about this matter:

Are you glad you got out of Select?

I don't think anyone can compare kindle publishing and clickbank. The two are completely different. I don't remember seeing much fiction on clickbank.

Yes...There are some reports on publishing on nook and also on Ipad but it's not as basic and easy to get into a kindle. Plus once you are on kindle it's normally just a few steps to be on Nook as well. No one wants to limit their income with just Nook publishing these days.

No matter which platform you choose to sale your books on - it's the effort and amount of work you put into it that drives success.

      I hear - Biggest is not always best . . .

Despite What Many Believe - Amazon Is Not The Only Publishing Game In Town. One Step Beyond - Amazon Publishing.
