I think it's going to be a similar year as last year. More and more people are getting online, which means more and more competition. While everyone would like to do something they love and make money with it, I think the best bet is to put your own spin on something that has already been proven to work.

Then, at some point, use that money to invest in something that you're more passionate about.

I think one of the best online business models right now and 2014 and beyond is "Affiliate Marketing" what's better than that?

I personally think it will mostly stay similar to this year, although there will be a rise in smartphone usage to access the internet, thus causing higher demand for websites than have an adapted design for mobile users.

Whats gonna be hot is a niche that you actually put the time and effort into making it a success.

Offering solutions to an audience in pain and/or desire.

Pretty much what's been the hottest business model since... well, since always.

Models are already well established, what everyone needs to find is what model works best for THEM. You can spend years trying to work someone else's model - watch them succeed wildly and still not be able to come close because what works for them doesn't necessarily match your skills, knowledge, interest and passion.

Dig into the various business models (affiliate marketing, information marketing, services, consulting/coaching, membership sites, product licensing, content production, etc...) and find out what really turns your crank and that others find valuable...that's the model that will work for you in 2014.

The best business model has always been creating your own products. Just look around, who he the richest persons on the internet- affiliate marketers or product owners?

I know product owners double as affiliates, but in the long run, they make more money from their own products through their own traffic and that from their army of affiliates or leveraged affiliates.

So, if you want to make it big in 2014, start thinking of creating your own products, recruiting affiliates and building a list. Those are the only biggest three secrets

Considering the HIGH LIKELIHOOD there will be a GLOBAL stock market MELTDOWN in 2014, I would suggest more DEFENSIVE sales strategies and business models. Also, focus on more basic needs. Low cost and easy terms would help as well. Like with any MARKET CRASH, 2014 would be a year of many opportunities. Many great fortunes are made when everyone is panicking and running for the exits. Remember that.

I have no idea what will happen. But I keep hearing on the news everyday how people are losing their health care and jobs, and how the economy doesn't seem to be getting any better, and it makes me scared.

Because I left the work force 3 years ago and I am free from struggling paycheck to paycheck just to make a living. I hear stories about people who've gone on 60 job interviews, and wound up settling for a min wage job where they make $325/week. And I think "jesus christ, I have 1 youtube that makes that much a week and I haven't even touched it in months".

One side of me is happy I found marketing. Another side of me is worried about the side effects of a real economic melt down. Because if any shit goes down, and more and more people lose their jobs, or the economy gets worse.... thats inevitably going to have an effect on marketers banks as well. Every person who loses a job is one less person who can remodel their home through one of my lead gen sites (where I get a commission), or buy a clickbank product through one of my YT videos.

So as far as 2014 goes, I don't really give a shit about new trends or whats "hot". All I care about is that the economy doesn't crash. Because if that happens, its going to effect everybody. Whether you're a cashier, marketer, entrepreneur, we need a stronger economy. Because that will mean more jobs, more people working for the man, and more people buying useless shit they don't need that I can make a commission on.

The US has seemed "frozen" for a long time now. Its a very weird time in America if you ask me. Noone seems to be really sure about anything. Like we're trying to do everything possible to avoid a severe depression. But when you look at how much debt we're in, how much we're spending vs how much we're producing, how impeccably stupid Obama is, it would make any smart economist paranoid.

The answer has more or less always been the same (unless you built Google or Facebook), find your hungry crowd and there is your model.

I think 2014 will be almost same like 2013 in terms of marketing. As long as you know how to serve a starving crowd to solve their problems, you will keep making money for years to come.

Why do people look for everything new each year, off on search of that shiney new object, that just derails them from what they should be doing, traffic, optin pages, offers, products etc.

As others said- e-commerce. I've been making a 6 figure (profit) income with this for 3 years in a row. It does not seem that real people buying real products will ever go out of style. With so many NEW products coming out faster than EVER, the opportunity is still HUGE!
