Best practice for review sites, one website per product or multiple products on a single site?

Hey Warriors,

What is the best way to create a review site?

Create single site per product or can we review multiple products around a niche on a single website?

For e.g. if I am reviewing a weightloss product should I just review one single product and have that website around a single product or can I create multiple landing pages around different weightloss products?

Which one serves the best user experience?

Thanks,
Shan

I've written a few health product LPs and intermediary pages so here are just some of what I've learned regarding the answers you're seeking:

    1) Cloak your links

    2) Base the review on facts. If it is an obvious shill piece, you won't get much traction--unless you're using the review as a landing page for an AR series

    3) Use graphics and header colors that are consistent with the actual LP of the product you're pushing.

Thanks for your response. Great tips but this not I am exactly looking for.

What I wanted to know is to base my site around a single product or can have multiple products on a single site?

Basically just thinking having multiple products on the same site may cause distractions for visitors?

I have made several review sites with multiple products on the site and it has always worked well for me. This can help the site appear to be authoritive because you are reviewing many diffent products. I believe a single product per site can be beneficial for seo purposes. I've ranked for the products name quickly this way.

I used to cloak links but don't worry so much about it anymore with the new ftc rules and the fact anyone with affiliate marketing knowledge is going to clear cookies or find some way to cut you out.

But to answer your question one more time, both a single product mini site and an authority review site have advantages and can be successful. You've chosen a good in demand niche too; competition means lucrative. You just need to work at it.

I hope you're successful. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your response. I like the authority sites too and Google love these kind of sites but I am not looking to do SEO at all since I am buying traffic. SEO is hard and you don't have any control over it.

I'll probably give it a try with multiple products first and see how it goes. Cloaking is almost necessary for paid traffic anyway other wise they will shut down your account.

It really depends on the products. If the products are all similar by nature than I would say go for it. If they are all similar by targeted audience ( IE female / male ) I would again say go for it. if the products are all in left field in different ball parks, I might not LOL

If you place them all on the same site, I would have an index page that links to each sub section. As an example a block of 4 images each being a product. I would then build sub sites for each. Maintain the over all image but change the color scheme for each. If you have 4 products I would use Blue, Green, Orange, and red. Orange would be the product I would make the most with.

You then would want to cross link each with the use of a color branded small banner ad, and a text link. Be sure to use the alt in the text link to display the forward page dominate key word. And use the alt on the banner ad to display a dominate keyword for the page that it is on.

Boy wouldn't it be easier to explain this with a picture!

        Hope that Helps!
