Blog Traffic and Monetizing

Hi, I have a blog and I've asked questions like this before but I've never looked into it like this.

Here is my blog A helpful blog about blogging for money

First off does it look okay?

Is there anything that throws you off when you enter the page?

Is there a better way to monetize then just the ads. They are Adbrite also by the way.

And for traffic I'm attempting SEO, I'm not the best but I am using a few good pluggins.

I'm just looking for General feedback. If you feel that I should do something drastically different please pm me.

If you feel YOU could do something for my site also please pm me and we can talk about it.

Thanks for everyone that can help!

Remember anything is fine by me critique your hearts out!

    Hey Dylan,

    Question for you.

You blog about money, but you have an ad with a Toyata commercial on it. I'd get rid of that ad.

Someone looking to make money about blogging is probably not in the right state of mind for looking for a Toyota.

You can easily find some affiliate programs at clickbank.com to promote that have to do with blogging. Remember in the eyes of the search engines, think relevance.

Too many ads, too less content.

I would focus on content first and tthen display relevant good quality ads.

You blog looks spammy to me.

Sorry but thats what I feel.

    Too many ads.

Look to build an online community where people will want to come to your blog.

Give visitors step-by-step blueprints for making money with blogging.

    Dylan,

I went to your blog before reading any comments here, so I could approach it unbiased.

Upon reading the 1st sentence in your blog

"Have you ever measured why would individuals actually buy info products that you commend from end to end your piece of writing?"

I felt maybe English was not your first language and you used a translator, so I continued to struggle through your post in order to get a feel for what it is you were trying to get across to me, the reader.

However, when I reached the 3rd paragraph, and read

"it aids constructs connection (Law of Liking) and even dealings to the limit that readers sense that the person behind has finished him a big favor (Law of Reciprocity)"

It occurred to me that you were using PLR articles, spun through a poorly designed thesaurus! We call it the Law of Attraction not, the law of liking! (of course I did get a chuckle!)

Since I find these types of rehashed and regurgitated articles amusing, and I had a little spare time on my hands, I continued until I found this snippet

"Believe about it for a moment."

It was then that I could not take it anymore, and promptly left the page. (incidentally, do you have any ads on there, I had not noticed any)

If your goal is to attract search engines, you are doing a fantastic job! However, search engines rarely make purchases, never opt-in to your lists or click your ads, so you likely will be very popular with the search engines.

If your goal is to attract people with a credit card in their wallet, a mouse in their hand and the intelligence of a 9th grader, then you need to do only one thing to improve your blog:

Create a folder on your desktop called 'HUH?' and put all the poorly rehashed PLR articles in it. Then using your mouse, gently glide that folder into the trash can and quickly and permanently delete it from your computer before it infects any intelligent articles you may have on your hard drive.

Then, begin writing (or hiring someone to write) posts that will entertain your guests, enrich their lives or provide them with real knowledge that makes them want to stay on your page.

Your question to better monetize your site is answered simply by providing your visitor with something to do.

I will reveal to you the biggest secret in Internet Marketing, this is worth millions, so pay attention:

Nobody EVER comes to a website with the intention of clicking on your ad, they come to learn, to be fulfilled, to improve their lives, to be entertained. Clicking the ads is just a secondary cause of action created by their interest in your site.

I have available several well written and documented courses that can point you in the right direction, if you are interested you can begin by reading my signature box.

    Best of Luck,
    Jon

Thanks guys, This is a test blog for me still even though it's my first.

    Fix:
It looks like every other blog. You could put your picture in the header. It would give it some personality.
    Difficult to remember name/domain.
    Where's the newsletter?
You tell me what your blog is "A helpful blog about blogging for money". I want to know what's in it for me. What's the benefit for me to stay around?

    The good:
You started it and kept at it. That's awesome.

      Hey Thanks,

To be honest I'm one of those people who just read and read and Never take any chances or steps and this was and still is a big chance for me!

I have a goal to attempt and make 5$ a day from this blog. This is a very big deal and step to me! It would mean the world to me to get this going.

I Might put a picture in my blog once I start making just a little bit of profit, That way I can get a better layout more customized and a LOT better looking.

Again I can't express enough thanks to everyone! This is really helping get everyone straight with the do's and dont's!

I would not post the complete articles on your home page. Just post a few sentences and then use the "read more..." for your reader to click on if they are interested. This way when someone visits your home page there is room for them to see several article titles above the fold.

    Hi Dylan:

Keep at it and add content on a regular basis.
Tip: WordPress, I'm assuming that's what you are using, allows you to add content and schedule it's publication on your blog. That's a great help when you don't want to sit at your computer every day or so and add stuff. I was so glad when I discovered that function.
Keep in mind that some affiliate programs have a shorter vertical banner size you can use as well.

I've had a test website and a test blog for years now so that I can check something out before I use it on a 'regular' site or blog. I suspect many people do this although they may not say so.

Congratuations, you have taken the most important first step.

Uhm, if this is your first blog do you think it's a good idea to write about making money via blogs? I mean first you should have some blogs that you're making money with before writing one "how to make money", right?

I looked at your blog and I have a few suggestions.
    1. If you are using re-spun PLR articles as was mentioned consider using articles from article directories instead. Ezine Articles has the best quality articles.
    2. Consider joining CrowdMountain.com
    3. Figure out a way to make it a sticky community site for your niche.
