Would everyone share their best tip for getting exposure for a website in just one day's work. Meaning, what is one thing a person can do TODAY to make a difference in the number of interested visitors to their site?

    Advertise in sites such as Gumtree and Craigslist. Advertise in FB or Twitter....there are no guarantees but you should do things regularly to improve your chances.

    Produce a 2-3 minute video answering a compelling question from your market. Post a blog posting around the same topic, embed your video and share a few bullet points about the video asking for comments. Then go to your social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and invite them to view your content. Bookmark your blog posts on Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Google +, etc...

    Not only will this get a nice immediate traffic bump, but it will continue to produce for you in the coming weeks/months. I'm not really into one-time traffic generation so much as methods that leverage my time/energy to continually drive more traffic over time.

    Another approach - if you have your own product - is to identify a dozen or so potential affiliates, send them an offer to review your product and get a few of them to bite on sending out a promotion that will bring you immediate traffic/sales

    Forums and Twitter hashtags are your best bets. Of course, this means that your forum accounts must be established and you must use forums that are directly relevant to your niche. Twitter hashtags are great for highly targeted traffic.
