PLEASE HELP: How can I help my dad sell insurance online? Or classic cars? [web developer]

Hi, thanks for viewing

I just learned that my parents are having extreme financial issues and my diabetic dad can't even pay his own health insurance.

I really need to know how I can help my dad break out of the traditional belly-to-belly insurance. He can't get a decent job because of his health issues, so all he can get is a straight commision health or life insurance job. He has been known to do other types as well such as antique auto insurance.

I know it can be done, and I know money is in the list.

I know I'm surrounded by some of the best IM pros around the world so any tidbits or anything that comes to mind would be a blessing.

I'm a talented front and back jack-of-all-trades web developer, so I'm sure that I can pull something off for him. But he really needs to hit the ground running as money is tight now, and he can't spend too much time trying to build up a business.

What comes to my mind (though I'm a newb with little practice):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Blog about insurance and health tips in general
-PPC for lead generation
-Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn networking (time consuming?)
-Youtube health tips

I know how to use google keyword tool and get the basics of trying to rank, as well as building a list and sending out emails

But he really loves the antique car industry and he'll probably have more enthusiasm for that (blogging for instance). In which case I could think that he would love to blog, or do youtube videos at shows, about but I'm not sure how to monetize this. Potentially, he could make money by generating leads for antique cars he has connections with the owners of (consignment). Possibly even some car care products to sell on his website..

Any other ideas? You guys are the pros not me! Thanks!

He also has connection with people involved in car shows.

Thank you and God bless

Antique cars seems to be a very good niche and since your father has knowledge about it I think the first thing is to make a blog and have him write some articles. You can then put some car insurance ads or cars affiliate ads. This is a long term process but once the blog is stabilized, I believe many antique car enthusiasts will keep returning to your blog and read new blog posts.

I ran a classic Buick site for 8 years. The adsense value is not brilliant for the car niche (made on avarage $300 a month with 5k UV per month on average) but the highest paid ads appear on insurance and new dealer pages. If you're really keen - think about building him a forum and teaching him how to run it. BIG bucks in active forums (I prefer vBulletin 3.8 - as used on the Warrior Forum) but you have to be keen. If he loves cars he'll love talking about them too.

Can he offer his classic car knowledge in the form of articles or video reviews to may be some classic car dealers in your locality. Or better still find some classic car related forum and try and offer his knowledge in some form of service. Later he can convert that knowledge into an ebook that could be easily marketed to the audience interested in the niche.

      Cheers

If he is an insurance agent, craigslist is the place to be for free insurance leads as long as your posting in your city or state.

He can make a deal with the salesmen at the local car dealerships where he pays them for each customer that buys insurance. When I sold cars I had a deal like this with a local agency. I got paid $40 each and I made sure to send them lots of customers. This is a virtually instant way to start getting sales. Used car dealers and new car dealers I would hit up.

We have several agents around the country that work from home and sell 100% over the phone. I can give you some direction and suggestions if it will help.
