If you are writing/compiling/formatting your ebook in MS Word or Open Office then simply save as a pdf. Done and done. Or there are any number of conversions thingies to change a document file in to a pdf.

Hey there, if you're using Microsoft Word to write out your ebook, all you need to do is go to File>Save As> and under "Save As Type" change it to PDF.

    No need for other software!

If you're NEW to something, you don't get GOOD at it by taking the shortcut route. After all, it's just an ebook. I don't think you would need any software for it, and I don't have any software recommendations other than MS Word, or whatever document editor you are using.

It's not hard to format an ebook. Find some ebook that you already have (pretty sure you have plenty :rolleyes and just follow the format and save as a PDF.

I think you'd get more satisfaction this way, and you're probably going to save more time that trying to configure a certain software to churn out an ebook for you.

Just write it up in Microsoft Word then go to "pdfonline .com" to have it converted into PDF format for free.

Why bother? Word will do that for you anyway.

        correct.

You should download appache open office bundle, and do everything with open office writer.

You can add borders change fonts add images etc and then export as a PDF and there you have it.

The reason i said openoffice, rather than word is because its free.
